Tavern. Thank you for choosing to dine at Joumak! 'Joumak' is a term from old Korea, referring to a place for Drinking, Eating, and Sleeping, akin to a modern-day Bed and Breakfast. We hope that during your visit to our restaurant, you savor the experience of our specialty—homemade Soondae. Our broth is meticulously brewed for several days, ensuring a rich and flavorful soup. Food was amazing. Must say, it tastes authentic and tasty. Small menu and not overwhelming at all. The Resturant is very homey and cozy and the owners are really friendly❤️ Will definitely come here again. And they do give free side dishes ✅

I always really liked Sweet Pork Galbi and can’t believe they have it gamjatang style~~~ So good! And the Gochujang Pork rice bowl was also really good

We went to pick up it up but the food wasn't ready, because they didn't see the order. And yet didn't really say sorry or anything had to wait for like 15 mins there. Food was nice !! but the portion was so little

Small korean restaurant with a very homey and cozy atmosphere. Our server was great! She was really attentive and friendly. Food was okay; I ordered the spicy pork bone soup, and it was a little bland and not spicy at all. Portion size was decent, but far from better pork bone soup I’ve had. Egg rolls were nice and fluffy, but again, a little bland. Overall experience was not bad, but food definitely left more to be desired.

Quiet place to eat. Went during lunch. Menu options very limited. 2 soup options, 4 rice bowl options with 2 pork and 2 chicken.

Definetly reccomend this spot for some wholesome and delicious Korean food. The service is excellent and the food is really delicious. I had the soondae and some fishcake and radish kimchi as sides and it all tasted fresh and homemade in the best way. I also reccomend the rice drink that comes in a can its sweet and tasty.

Really enjoyed the food here! We got the bossam and the soondae guk and it was very flavourful and home style, contained plentiful ingredients. They also gave a few bacchan such as cucumber salad and fish cake, all made fresh. I would highly recommend coming here for homey rustic Korean food - it’s like my grandma cooked it!

I had a disappointing experience at JouMak. The food was bland and lacked flavor, completely unlike what was advertised. The menu descriptions were misleading and did not match what was served. Service was also lacking, with long wait times and inattentive staff. The Boiled Pork portion was very small and labeled as a single serving in Korean, with no English translation indicating this. The pork slices were thinner than the onion slices. At $23.99 plus HST, this seems unreasonable. No side dish (garlic slice or green onions) were provided. The Jayouk Deop-Bap was unbelievably salty and almost inedible. It completely overshadowed any other flavours. In addition,the restaurant itself had a strong, unpleasant washroom kind odor, and the floors were sticky, which raised significant safety concerns. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to others. I’d I could give 0 star I wouldnt give one. It’s absurd that I walked out of the restaurant feeling furious, frustrated, and still starving. There are many better options out there for a good dining experience.
