Came here for the waterfront views and wings. Given the proximity to the Island Airport it was very loud. I ordered wings with house spice and sweet potato fries. For a place with "bird" in their name, I was very disappointed by their wings, especially since they charged $19 for just wings. The wings themselves were low in quality (blood had clearly seeped into the muscles and made the meat dark and not tasty), the house spice was not flavourful, and the blue cheese sauce it comes with was not my favorite. The sweet potato fries were better than the wings, but were too salty, you can see the salt crust. Service and the view were the only good parts.

Great atmosphere and dog-friendly patio seating! The summer season is beautiful by the water and this location highlights the sunset well. The food is pub-style and decent but not spectacular. Fries are crispy, plain chicken tenders were good and simple. Their habanero sauce wasn't spicy at all though. My friend said their wings were lean, lacking meat and flavor despite ordering the rooster (pineapple & chili) sauce. The service was great at least!

Stopped here for a beer and ended up having bar snacks too. Very nice, waiter was nice (Tom I believe) and informative with regard to beers and food choices. We wanted to try two different sauces, so the chef split the plate…excellent! Thanks chef! 👍🏼 A nice place to drop in for a beer and away from road noise. It was a bit odd waiting to order a drink refill with 3 staff just chatting at the entrance. It seemed like the assigned station areas were not helping each other out. Maybe a result of the staff not having a vested (financial) interest in the business. Beer and bar snack/sides we had were good and our waiter was very good. Nice!

We ordered the fried chicken, which comes with 2 pieces (half breast and one dark) and a cocktail. It also includes two sides; I chose broccoli and cauliflower. The chicken was decent, but I was more impressed with the sides. The place was pretty warm, though - they could use better cooling for the summer. It’s a nice spot to hang out with friends, but I might try other restaurants nearby next time.

We walked along the harbour front and randomly chose to have lunch at Joe Bird Restaurant. We were not unhappy with our selection of restaurants along the way. The service was prompt and helpful. We had the Fried Chicken & Waffles, Joe’s Wings (dry house spice), and the Newton Salad (GF/V). Everyone enjoyed the food which was served quickly. The patio was a nice place to enjoy a meal and look out at the water. A definite place to return.

3rd time eating in this place and the food, patio atmosphere and service have not failed me. I had the grilled chicken thigh bao bun. 2 pcs per order which was more than plenty to feed one person. I should have split with a friend. We had the charred Brussels sprouts with balsamic glaze and it was very good. We also had the cornbread with jalapeño sauce. Both the cornbread and the sauce were pretty good although the jalapeño flavour was mild and could afford a bit of a flavour punch. I’ve tasted better but this was good enough, bread was moist and freshly made. The broccoli and cauliflower (spelled coliflower on the menu) were just ok. I would stick to the Brussels sprouts. Service was attentive, patient and friendly. Not complaints whatsoever during the 3x I’ve been there. When we were shown to our table, we were asked if we wanted sun, shade or partial shade. I liked that they asked our seating comfort preference. I love their patio, with the view of the water. This can’t be beat!

We were walking on the harbour front and my friend suggested we try their sweet potato fries along with beer. Loved the way the staff is amazingly trained and smiling and helped in deciding the order. The beer selection was not much on the tap, but the ones they had were quite good. We did try the Hazy IPA and the Amsterdam (Big wheel) tap beers. The fries were indeed good. They can help you if you are vegetarian by removing ingredients that you do not want.

We tried Joe Bird today as we wanted a restaurant on the harbour. I ordered the salad with apples, feta and pumpkin seeds with a ginger dressing and my friend ordered a steak sandwich and poutine. The server was friendly and fast. He made recommendations to us and was happy and smiled. The food was good, but not the best I have ever had. The food was presented well inside a contemporary ceramic bowl with heavy, steel utensils. The view and ambiance in the restaurant was nice as we were seated outside overlooking the harbour. I would definitely come back here again!
