Jerk King

A small, simple spot that has very good jerk chicken and rice and peas. Meat was tender, rice was soft and delicious. Reasonably priced.

Having grown up in the restaurant business, I'm a little more critical. But Jerk King has delicious food. It is priced right (economical) and these days everyone is taking their orders home/out to save money. The portions are also good, and one meal ends up being two for me. Caribbean food tastes just as good, if not better the next day!

this food court location has a lotto be proud of . friendly and attentive i think they make my favourite meat patties in town. Delicious crisp, flakey yellow crust generously filled with well balanced spices and beef. I take one star away for the overly spiced Jerk Chicken. No not the jerk spice. A little heavy on the nutmeg. Great well cooked portions of chicken on just the right amount of rice to balance the jerk. i have a personal bias : more beans in the rice please, not a criticism. i’m being greedy. my favourite jerk in the city , favourite patty, favourite location . i hope to be back soon.

I used to come here so often for their jerk chicken cause the taste is so authentic, not anymore… The taste of the jerk chicken has changed, and it’s not amazing like it used to be. Ok food. Good size for the price. But I will not come back again. Thanks 🙏

The food was okay. Well seasoned. Decent portions. The coleslaw was good. The service was not great, to say the least. Wouldn’t go back.

Ordered ahead of time, something I recommend to everyone nowadays. Oh man, does this take me back to the nostalgic days! The chicken was cooked to perfection, oozing out juices. The sauce that coated the rice was super flavorful. Very, very filling, and I only got the small version! Can't go wrong here. If you want some good jerk chicken, this place will not disappoint.

This tiny lunchtime location is primarily for takeout but they do have a few seats. I stopped in and tried the oxtail with rice and beans (medium size) which came with a side of coleslaw. It looked quite tasty but this was a bit deceiving because both the oxtail and rice were quite bland, which was disappointing. It was also overpriced for what you get and so I'd have to say I'll be giving this place a miss in future.
