I recently visited a new Korean restaurant I had been meaning to try, especially since it’s rare to find places serving gukbap, the comforting Korean soup made with pork broth and various pork cuts. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food they offered. We ordered Beef Head Meat Gukbap) and Pork Soup Gukbap, along with sides of Suyuk, Boiled Pork Slices and Sundae (not the ice cream!, Korean Blood Sausage to share. Their Pork Gukbap was exceptional, featuring a clear yet savory broth with plenty of depth. It is served with fermented shrimp and gochujang to customize the flavor, which I enjoyed halfway through the meal to experience the soup in different ways. The soup paired with rice made for an incredibly wholesome meal. The Pork Suyuk was another standout. It was perfectly tender, with no unpleasant odor, and so soft it felt like you could eat it with your gums. The Sundae was equally impressive, free of the usual funky smell and packed with a subtle, hearty flavor. The texture was spot on, with glass noodles inside complementing the shell perfectly. The banchan (side dishes) were top-notch, though refills are limited to just one round. Given the high quality, I can understand why. I rarely find myself asking for more banchan at Korean restaurants, but their glazed potatoes and well-fermented kimchi had me going back for seconds. The restaurant was bustling, with a steady flow of diners, and I appreciated how attentive the servers and the owner were, frequently checking in with each table. It’s heartening to discover another Korean spot I can visit with confidence. I can’t wait to return for another satisfying meal!

We came on a Saturday night around 7pm and there wasn’t any wait for a table for 2, more people started coming in around 8pm so it was busier but not packed. The service was very good, they regularly came around to ask if we needed anything else. The seomori gukbap was delicious with a flavourful broth. It was hearty and perfect for a cold night & if you’re feeling sick. Maybe more meat pieces & additional seasoning would make it perfect. The daeji gukbap had a nice taste but the broth didn’t have as deep of a flavour as other places, perhaps it needs to be cooked longer with the bones (to be nitpicky). There was plenty of meat pieces which I appreciated. Both dishes were very clean tasting, they had a homemade-taste and didn’t feel like we were eating out. Would definitely come back! Daeji gukbap ($18.95) Seomori gukbap ($18.95)

A new authentic Korean gukbap spot has opened in North York! The overall experience was amazing. I ordered the ox cheek meat soup with rice, and it was absolutely delicious, the taste brought back memories of the gukbap I had in Korea. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we were happy with our food throughout the meal. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Ordered 2 soondae gukbap and small suyook. Taste of the food is a bit unique than the other gukbap places. Soondae gukbap was normal but a bit pricey. I loved the taste of the suyook and portion was reasonable for the price. I will give another try for different foods.

Food was very soulful and delicious. I got the beef cheek soup and the pork bone soup. Both were very hearty. The sides were simple (pickled radish, kimchi, potato) and made well. Very enjoyable! Service was a bit slow while there was a steady flow of customers, so I think they had trouble keeping up. We had to flag someone down to take our order, and when we got our side dishes, we had to flag someone down to get utensils, and they forgot to give us napkins lol. Since the food was very good and the staff friendly (and apologetic), I would go back again and try more things.

I had the Korean pork stew and suyuk for dinner. They portions were very generous and delicious. Side dishes are refillable. The waiters were very attentive and informative. Great food with a nice home made touch.

New Korean restaurant in the area! Overall our experience was good. If you're coming here right now I'd say try to exercise a bit of patience as they are trying to work out some things. I feel like maybe they could have taken more time to work things out before opening, but they probably didn't want to miss the weekend. We got the Bone Haejangguk and the Dolsat Bibimbap. Unfortunately they didn't have the gamjatang, but the bone broth was a nice "cleaner" version of it. The broth was still really flavourful and the pork fell off the bone very easily which are all good signs. My favourite thing about the meal was the kimchi which was nice and crisp and full of flavour. The restaurant made a mistake with our Bibimbap that caused it to come out much later but the staff here were very nice and apologized and offered 10% off our bill to make up for it. They were very apologetic and kind. I will say the prices are probably $1-3 higher than other restaurants in the area, so I will be curious to see if that's a difference maker for some people. Welcome to the neighbourhood!
