Stumbled upon Iwami, located in Chefs Hall, completely by chance about over a year ago. At the time they had just opened but have had me coming back for more! Still need to try everything on their seasonal menu rotations The Salmon Truffle Rolls are a definite must have, the staff — hospitable and friendly, the atmosphere is so warm that I had to have a birthday celebration here to show everyone else this lovely little find.

I have been a long time customer at Iwami for a reason. Tommy, Chris, and Minh are the most hospitable and welcoming people AND their food is top quality. They helped me host a surprise birthday party for 20+ guests and it was a success — prixe fixed menu with a wonderful selection, dessert, and sake! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I will assure you that you will have an amazing time when you go to Iwami.

Amazing food, amazing service! The sushi quality and variety is beyond a ‘regular’ place you would order typical rolls, but not as expensive as the other pretentious places you’d find in this city. This place has tasting platters that lets you try a bit of everything, and their selection is fresh and delicious. A must try for sushi lovers in a nice and quiet but cool market environment!

Got a chirashi. Flavour, texture, and freshness are underwhelming tbh. It’s clean, but you’d expect more tenderness from a 50$ bowl. Go to Kingyo for an equally priced Fisherman’s bowl and you’d know. The crab stick here also tastes like the ones you buy from grocery stores (but why even put it on a chirashi bowl ?) wasabi is also store bought; you see that twirly flower shape. Details like just say a lot. Rice is also more on the refrigerated side; a little hard, which tasted like gel. Overall, let-down. Been here before for rolls and mains, so i had some expectation for their chirashi.

Went here for my birthday with my grandma. There is a japanese bar-like ambiance that is very cozy and comfortable to be in. We ordered a lot, staff was extremely friendly, service was fast and very high quality despite the large volume of people during that time. The food is to die for, everything is beautifully crafted, tastes amazing, and definitely stands out from all the sushi restaurants I’ve been to. The type of food you get full with but don’t feel heavy afterwards!

UBON CARBONARA is to die for!! Found this spot in Chef's Hall via google reviews and so thankful I did. The service was excellent, price was right, portion was great and this entree was incredible. Perfect in every way. Additionally, I ordered the avocado maki and aburi shrimp/salmon sushi which were also very good and super fresh. This spot is closed on Sundays. I really cannot wait to return. It was amazing!!

It’s a must go if you are in Toronto or near the Chefs Hall, located in a quiet and cosy corner, Iwami gave us a fantastic lunch experience. Everything is so fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Tommy the Chef is so passionate about cooking and serving the clients, his creativity and talent are well demonstrated in the selection of ingredients and different layers of flavor. Highly recommended for casual lunch or dinner. Will go back for sure next time when I am in Toronto.
