Island Grill Take out & Catering

Came by for a oxtail poutine last night. Portions were amazing and it tasted great! Until… I bit into some type of metal nut in the gravy lol. I’m assuming it may have been loose on some cookware and fell in. Food was great though… just lost my appetite after biting into the steel. Gonna come back and try it again because I’m sure it was just a fluke.

Amazing food and service! Drove from Scarborough to try this place and it did not disappoint! Oxtail poutine tasted great and the shrimp pepper shrimp was our favourite, both were spicy and had amazing flavours! Edit: Came back right after our movie to try the jerk chicken and second round of the shrimp 🔥

We went there for late night dinner and the food didn’t disappoint. We ordered jerk chicken and island chop steak with fries. The jerk chicken was perfect, delicious mouthwatering chef’s kiss. The steak was equally good and medium rare like how we wanted. The portion sizes were really good. The owners were really friendly and sweet. I wish them all the best for their family business.

I litterally just ate my first bite Pepper shrimp with rice and peas and coleslaw 😭🔥😭🔥 And had to come write a review. This is Phenomenal! ( the mild is a bit spicy , but I’m a frivken baby with spice😅) The owners Are a very personable clean space will definitely be a repeat customer! I can’t wait to tell people about the spot and very excited to something new! Thanks so much for the great food and great service!

This place is a hidden gem. We got the jerk chicken plate, Island steak & fries, and chicken wings. Everything was delicious and fresh! Enjoyed the flavours and quality of the food. The owners are super friendly as well. Definitely reccomend if you're feeling some good Carribean style food :)

As we walked in they were super friendly and even after we got our food they checked in to see how we were loving it. They are very humble! The food was fantastic! The oxtail Poutine had great flavour and they did NOT skimp out on the portions! I loved it. The jerk chicken was not only well presented, but the taste was amazing too. The seasoning they put on the chicken was tasty. The rice wasn't dry either. Coleslaw was not overpowering like other places. Would love to go back. The spot is small but there are a couple seats. It's a little awkward there because it's silent (at least when we went). But the food and friendliness made up for it!

We ordered jerk chicken with rice, beef steak with potato chips and burgers for kids, we also tried pepper shrimps and their famous dessert "pina colada" . Everything was super delicious and mouth watering...the spices and sauces added Oomph to the food. Great portions and filling menu. Will visit again !!!

Food and service was amazing! Owners walked us through the menu and served up the best jerk chicken and shrimps I’ve had! Their desserts are also made in house and extremely tasty (and fresh)! Highly recommend
