I’ve been an Island Foods customer for over 30 years now, and every single time I’m on my way there, I think, “There’s no way it can still be as good as last time.” I prepare myself for what I assume will eventually be a letdown. And yet, in all these years, that letdown has never come. Not once. They nail it every single time. Without fail, without exception. On my last visit, I pulled the owners aside and said, “I don’t know how you do it. Well… actually, I do know. You stick to the damned recipes!” That’s the secret to their unmatched consistency. The boneless chicken roti is a masterpiece—last meal worthy. I’d crawl through the desert on my hands and knees for it. It’s easily one of the top three most amazing things I’ve ever eaten, and it never fails to impress. This is, hands down, the best roti money can buy. 10/10 every time.

Moving eastward on Queen West, the summer day was declining, and I needed a drink. Island Foods was there offering "A taste of life under the sun." The famous Jamaican soda "Ting" caught my eye: sweet and tart, pétillante et plaisante. ("If it ain't Ting, it ain't the real thing.") There were a lot of people in the restaurant, and the service was quick and efficient. With a grapefruit Ting soda in hand (the green one), I moved on to complete the next leg of my journey. Looking forward to coming back and trying the boneless goat roti. P.S. Making the trek back to Queen West on a cool autumn evening, my dear friend and I both enjoyed the boneless goat roti. The goat was tender, great cuts of meat, and the roti flatbread was tasty with a pleasing stretchy consistency. Really, really good.

I have been eating boneless chicken roti from Island Foods for 20 years. Nobody does it better! delicious as always, worth any distance travelled or wait. I came on a Friday at 2 pm and it was pretty much empty. I ask for medium spice which is not hot and extra gravy inside. The owners are the same, I recognized them from The Grange. Love their doubles too!

Honestly the spinach and bone in curry chicken roti is just right. Specify how much hot sauce you need. The curry is a gorgeous blend of spices, and the sauce is not oily. Otherwise the taste is flavourful, and the roti texture is solid yet fluffy. It's a nice place to dine in, during a grocery shop or on a frustrating banking day. I ordered a cream soda.

The downtown location is just different from the rest. Hands down, the best roti in the city; Great doubles as well. Authentic Trinidadian chefs handling the meals here. I live in the east end and if I can make it downtown before 8pm, this is the place to be.

I was so sad and disappointed when their King West location closed. Thankfully they opened another location in Queen West which is newer, cleaner and brighter. The food is a different story though, not the same as it used to be. The Boneless Chicken Roti was overcooked making the chicken dry and rubbery. There's not a lot of curried sauce inside the roti so you have to clearly tell them to put additional sauce. Spice level is also non-existent, even though you say medium there's no spice at all. Doubles (though not as good as ACR) are okay but smaller in size. You need two or more of these doubles in order to be filled up. Long lineups during lunch time so I try to come after two pm. During this time your order comes in fast, ready in five mins or less. Friendly and delightful service. Would probably still come back despite above inconsistent food quality since there's not a lot of authentic Trinidadian Roti in downtown Toronto.

Best Doubles in Toronto, made fresh to order! Everything is fresh, quality ingredients, delicious and service is 5 Star! Love their curry goat and the curry chicken is tender as can be. If you are in the area, give them a try you won't be disappointed. Lot's of options for everyone!

The food is great. Service is on island time. Been here 3 times in the last two weeks at different times of day. Don't go if you're in a rush of any kind. They can definitely use one more person to help with food prep. I got three different rotis on my visits: bone in chicken, goat and beef. The goat was my least favourite. Bone in chicken and beef were great. Add some hot sauce to spice it up. Haven't tried much else on the menu yet. Will go back to try the dinner plates as well as the snacks.
