Island foods express

Been a customer for a couple of years. My family members and I always enjoy the quality and taste of roti. Orders are easy to make and pickup timing works well. Our recent (Nov) order serving size has been reduced by about 20% making it less than filling and unfortunately much less likely we will order in future.

Ok. The doubles were good, I will give you that. However why do I need to spoon half and inch of oil from the top of the curry beef gravy and the curry beef itself to even taste flavour? Oil is not a flavour, it's an ingredient. Your kitchen staff should know better. You should be spooning off the oil and bits from the top as you cook. I'm disappointed because the doubles are the best I've had since I've been here.

Got some doubles. Service is excellent. Food was extremely fresh and will rejuvenate you right off the bat. They even have branded napkins which is crazy. Good amount of saucy channa, while the bara is on the thinner side. Lot of turmeric and good flavor. Only thing was that the extra hot was more of a mild, almost no spice. But still very good doubles.

I've been coming here for years and felt the need to post a review after our most recent order. I don't know what to say about the food...it was already amazing but this last time it was better than ever before! Someone complained about the portion sizes, I find that ridiculous as I honestly can eat a single portion for three days worth of meals. My whole family including kids were fighting over the leftovers. I grew up eating roti daily for dinner and can say this measures up to authentic West Indian food. We have also ordered food for catering for a house party on many occasions and the staff have always been so helpful in meeting our needs. I love this place!

Got doubles and curry goat roti and both were amazing. Not too many Caribbean spots in Markham so it’s nice to have this around. Tamarind sauce on the doubles was good too. Good value for the quantity

Ordered the jerk chicken breast meat with ox tail gravy and it was tasty. The jerk spicy has a good kick to it. The meal comes with curry cabbages on the side so your getting a mix of jerk and curry flavors. Pricing isn't bad either.

I tried Island Foods for the first time this week and I became hooked and returned 4 days in a row. I've had the goat and chicken roti and the beef and oxtail dinners. Everything is great, the goat was so tender and flavorful with huge pieces. I added vegetables or channa to the chicken roti, a nice touch. Their hot sauce is great too, tons of flavour. 2024 Update: flavors are still amazing. Goat roti is heaven, my only con is the portion sizes are not big enough for me, i have to order 2 dishes to suffice but i'm a big guy so it's not their fault.
