Customer Service: 1/5 Unfortunately I did not find the owner friendly and if anything was more annoyed that I was asking questions about the food “like what is a good recommendation” ? Food: 3/5 The food was okay considering all factors 1)flavour, 2) portions 3) pricing. I ordered jerk chicken and curry goat which both had incredible flavour. I got to give to the chef because all of the meats were seasoned to perfection. On the downside my ordered was packed with rice and tons of it and wasn’t well balanced with the meats and coleslaw. I personally found that the serving of chicken and goat was too little compared to other spots I have been to. The coleslaw which is a staple with most Caribbean dishes was okay. Good flavour overall. I paid 16.99 + hstfor each dish and without a drink. Prices being so high which I get I do expect a bit more in terms of portions and customer service. Verdict: I personally will not be going back because I don’t see enough value for what you pay. However it is worth a look if you are based in Oshawa since there is no other Caribbean options in the DT Core. You would have to trekk to Whitby I believe. I hope this review finds any of the readers well

Foods good and ready within minutes but what really pushed it over the edge is the friendly service and hospitality and generosity the feeling of connection and feeling truly welcome is not to be underestimated :)

I went here for the first time and I got the regular rice and peas with curry chicken. When I went to eat it, it smell and taste spoiled I can't eat it I wasted $20 for garage not happy

After rave reviews from my curry goat roti connoisseur son, we tried out and were not disappointed! Also tried the jerk pork, with sides of macaroni pie ( rich and cheesy), ackee and saltfish and spinach ( delicious!) I love the great vegetarian options for our " no meat" days. Service is delightful, and in this climate of wanting quality and value for your hard earned money, this place will provide it.

I had the pleasure of trying the curry goat roti at Island Cuisine, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience. The roti was impressively large and filled to the brim with tender, flavorful goat meat simmered in a rich, aromatic curry sauce. Each bite was bursting with authentic spices that truly captured the essence of island flavors. The portion size was generous, making it a great value for the price. Not only was it plentiful, but it was also incredibly tasty—perfectly seasoned and not overly spicy, allowing the natural flavors to shine through. I highly recommend Island Cuisine for anyone craving a hearty and delicious meal. The curry goat roti is a must-try!

Food was delicious however we paid $60 total for two extra large sizes (paid additional $9 for each meal to upsize) and were expecting large portions. This was too expensive for what we received to the point we were wondering if we had received the wrong size. It definitely wasn't a portion I would consider extra large and at $60 for takeout food we were expecting enough to feed our family but this was not the case. Delicious however a very costly mistake.

Ok, I'm just saying that the food here is so good that I'd marry the chef. (Apologies to my wife) Is there an Island Cuisine anonymous cause I need an intervention. I'll be back...... probably tomorrow. Just wow! The large size is a real large, I am 6'4" and a big eater, I am pleasantly full. The hot sauce is perfect heat for most Canadians. True island flavor. Take 2 I had to go back cause the food was so good! Tina, the owner, remembered me and welcomed me by name. She is awesome! I can officially say that Island Cuisine is my favorite place for Caribbean food in Ontario. I travel a lot for work and always look for good Caribbean and Indian restaurants. On this trip, I am only visiting Island Cuisine and highly recommended eating here for authentic and flavourful Caribbean food. So far, I have tried the curry goat, jerk pork, and jerk chicken, all with Caribbean rice and peas and colslaw. The flavor is bang on!, a flavor explosion in your mouth. Take 3 Oxtail and rice. Super tender! Oxtail flavor is great, with flavor flowing through the entire mouth. Gravy has a smooth texture. Rice and peas were cooked perfectly, I do like a little more coconut flavor in my rice, but this rice is on the mark. This meal was a 9 out of 10, but only because I like my Caribbean food with more scotch bonnet pepper, so that makes it a 10 out of 10 when I added Tina's hot sauce, which is lovely. You know it's great food when you can taste the flavors in your mouth after you are done eating and leave the restaurant. May 23, 2023. Guess who's back. I'm back in Whitby for work. First day, and I had to drop in for a taste of heaven. Had a beef patty and Curry Goat. Sampled bean soup and special spring rolls. The goat is the GOAT. The Spicy Beef Patty was moist, the pastry was perfect, and the flavor and spices were spot on. The bean soup sample was a hit. Perfect comfort soup. The island spring roll is going to be a hit when it is released! Perfect balance of flavors with a nice pepper and spice balance. I could have eaten a dozen easily! See you in a couple days.

I was walking down King Street listening to some tunes when this super colourful sign caught my eye and I noticed they had Trini Doubles on their menu! I know then exactly what I had to do, satisfying my craving and bring back the wonderful memories of the time my friends and discovered the absolute joy that are Trini Doubles in Barbados! Unfortunately, Miss Tina didn't have any in stock so she called her Mama and ordered 6 for me for tomorrow, I can't wait to smash 2 of them for lunch and stash the other 4 for later. So now that I'm feeling the vibe of the beautiful Miss Tina and the wonderful aroma of her restaurant I took a seat and went over the entire menu for about 15 minutes while conversing with another lovely Caribbean Queen patron. I finally made my decision and went for it... 2 Jamaican patties, 1 Large Jerk Chicken w/ Rice/Veg & Curry Sauce and 2 Jerk Pork Chops with Oxtail Gravy and a delicious free sample of a cheesey and delicious Mac n Cheese. My pick up experience was 11/10, Miss Tina is a such a lovely woman I almost didn't want to leave but at this point her food was calling my name so I gave her a nice tip, said thank you and pretty much ran home to taste her blessings. OMG I was blown away with the perfect combination of heat, flavor and tenderness which instantly took me back to many warm and breezy island experiences. I can't wait to go back tomorrow to see Miss Tina again to see her smiling face and to experience her Mama's Doubles! Pick Up Experience 11/10 Food 11/10 Miss Tina 💯/10
