IRENE

We had our wedding at IRENE! If you're looking for an alternative to the big boring conference centres and banquet halls, it really is an excellent wedding venue option. We were seeking something different and less traditional to push more of a fun, social party vibe for our big day while still keeping it classy and this turned out to be the perfect spot. #1 The location is awesome. The restaurant is right on the water and has beautiful views of the island, but far enough from Harbourfront that it is a little quieter and not as busy as you would expect. It's close enough to union station that transit is an option for guests and there is plenty of green P parking. #2 The space itself doesn't need much decorative work if you're aiming for a more relaxed atmosphere than some of the more formal venues. We simply added a few florals/centerpieces around the indoor space to push a bit of our colour scheme but the space was great as-is. Tasteful, classy, vibrant, lots of greenery and the patio on the water is a BIG selling point. #3 The Food is delicious! We did a 3 food station setup at our wedding and everyone LOVED it. Poke bowls/fried chicken lettuce wraps/roast beef were a big hit and the staff was great in accommodating our guests with special dietary needs. The head chef came out to meet us at the canape tasting and worked with us to do some custom late night breakfast sandwiches which really hit the spot as well. IRENE's staff also helped us serve some custom cocktail creations as well as a few of their own signature options and guests were raving about the drinks all night. #4 - The staff! Shastine their events coordinator was amazing and helped us work out all the details of our big day. She is great at what she does and will make your planning process that much easier. IRENE's bar staff was so speedy making our cocktails from scratch we never saw anyone wait longer than a minute or two. Kitchen/serving staff had all of our food out on schedule and they were all so friendly to us and our guests. Overall, 11/10! Many guests went out of their way to tell us it was the best wedding they had ever been to and it was mainly thanks to IRENE.

This spot is new and my friends and I paid a visit during a rainy Sunday day. Place is pretty average to be honest. I had the beef burger with truffle fries and they weren’t great. I wished I ordered just regular fries, they were suppose to put Parmesan but instead they put a cheese that wasn’t Parmesan in like lumps… the place is nice and bright. I don’t think I’ll be coming back though since food is pretty average.

Amazing bottomless brunch! Unlimited mimosa’s is the way to go! Love that you can choose to dine at the patio with beautiful waterfront views, or dine inside which is just as nice! The violinist was playing live music and it was so nice! For food, the apps were amazing, mains were great and you even get dessert! I would definitely come back! ☺️

Loved the patio and endless $95 weekend brunch here! Perfect for fall weather because the leave change colour right outside. The violinist is a beautiful touch and our server Kat was great!

Celebrated my partner’s birthday here!! I was shocked of how tasty the food was. We had the Irene smash burger, miso salmon glazed, spicy Parmesan wings. However the jerk tacos were a little bit dry hence the 4/5 stars. Overall the food was very tasty. The service especially Glen, Grace, and Rose were very nice and helpful. I asked for a birthday cake which was served :)

The patio is open in the warmer months and with an excellent view of the harbour. The ambiance and decor are contemporary and comfortable. The fried green tomato sandwich with fries is a surprisingly large portion compared to some of the other dishes and could be shared. The staff were exceptional, accommodating, and professional. It has been quite some time since I have experienced such outstanding service that was consistent across the entire service and staff. Would return.

Some of the food was delicious like the steak and fries and the calamari was pretty soggy and the jerk fish tacos were soggy and flavor less. Appetizers came after we got our mains apparently the computer crashed and our order wasn’t put in but the manager at least took care of that they also serve sushi 🍣 however we didn’t know that because the hostess didn’t give us a menu for that or we would have order so much of it. Drinks were delicious vibe was on point decent restaurant over all just the tasteless tacos didn’t do it for me and their small attention to details needs to be worked out with their staff.

We had a fabulous breakfast at Irene’s. Julia was our server and she made sure our needs were taken care of and she was very pleasant. She spoke softly and ensured our experience was a positive one. I had the chicken & waffles and my husband had the Salmon Benny. We both loved our meals. They were delicious and very satisfying. The view is outstanding and the flowers are gorgeous on the patio. We will continue to visit this restaurant when we are in the city.
