Impact is a healthy food option in Summerhill, the entire menu is gluten free. Impact is super welcoming, staff are lovely and it is the perfect spot to study or work remotely from since they close at 10PM, have SO much seating, decent amount of plugs, wifi and water jugs so you can refill without bothering them. I got the kale caesar salad which was gluten free and vegan 😅 and it was decent. I probably wouldn’t get it again because of how $$ it is. The free run chicken breast I added to the salad was $6. I also got a matcha latte which didn’t have a very strong matcha flavour. Their alternative milk options are almond and oat milk. I would go back to study/work here occasionally.

I came here with my girlfriend today and I have to say the food was so terrible. It was bland had no flavour and even adding the maple syrup on my waffles did nothing. I drank 4 glasses of water because I needed the food to go down. And my girlfriends food was the exact same thing hard to eat we needed a lot of water to make are food go down. Honestly I don’t recommend this place for anyone it’s not tasty and unappetizing looking. You can see in the photo I provided. Also I ordered scrambled eggs and they gave me the lowest portion I’ve ever seen in my life I ate it in one bite (the only thing I liked) I predict this place will be dead quiet within the next month or 2. Not worth it!!!!!

I’ve tried to give this location the benefit of the doubt after a few bad experiences but unfortunately I have to write a review after what happened yesterday. I ordered my usual zesty mexican bowl for takeout, and my order took close to 30 minutes to prepare. I didn’t have time to check the bag before leaving but after arriving at work I realized they had forgot utensils even though I asked for a fork (how am I supposed to eat without?) I had to ask another nearby restaurant for a fork which was embarrassing. However the real problem was that my bowl (pictured) was absolutely not fresh. An indication of this was that it was completely cold, if it had been made fresh there would have been some components that are partially hot. The rice was dry and cold, the sweet potatoes were cold, chewy and tough and the beans were cold as well. The avocado was watery and they did not provide any of the dressing either. The worst part was that I started to feel unwell about an hour after eating, so much so that I had to leave work. I tried calling Impact Summerhill multiple times to let them know about the situation but no one ever picked up and I was just sent to a pre-recorded voicemail that said to leave a message and they will get back to me in “2-4 days”. I am still feeling unwell today and still no one is answering the phone. I am very, very disappointed and upset and absolutely do not recommend eating here.

Yet, it was the zesty Mexican power bowl ($15.50) that drew me in. Yes, it contained kale (not massaged so my least favourite way of eating the fibrous green), but also roasted sweet potatoes, red peppers, rice, and a nutty tostada crumble. It’s healthy but filling. Filling indeed as I had to get the rest to go, which once augmented with more salad mix was enough for a second lunch. The bowl also desperately needed more sauce. Despite containing black bean mole, avocado, salsa, cashew sour cream, and a cilantro jalapeno dressing, the kale was still tasteless and dry. Impact Kitchen seriously needs massage and “marinate” the greens beforehand. The added falafels (additional $5.99) were dense and baked – lacking a crispy crust that makes these snacks delicious. As a falafel they blow but as a savoury snack ball they’re not horrible. Thankfully, our server asked if I wanted hot sauce on the side, that mild chili garlic sauce saved the day. Even then, I could only manage having one falafel at the restaurant and couldn’t get through the others until I had a creamy dipping sauce the following lunch. Impact Kitchen’s display case of baked goods drew us in and were surprisingly delicious for being gluten free. While I could have done without the sea salt on the chocolate sea salt cookie ($4.50), this was easy enough to dust off. Soft and chewy with a deep cacao taste, the cookie is the closest thing to a “sinful” dessert you’ll find here. The almond protein brownie ($4.99) tasted “healthy” and the texture a bit crumblier than a traditional brownie… likely on account of the whey protein powder. If you can withstand temptation, save some for the next day, as it became tastier as the flavours intensified. Their matcha latte ($5.99) was beautifully presented, incorporating a rich green tea flavour and a creamy matcha dusted foam. It was one of the better versions of the drink I’ve ever had.

Few steps from Summerhill station, this place offers a variety of different healthy dishes. I always enjoy my food and stay here. I have to say, the staff do make a big difference here! Always super kind, helpful, and welcoming. Enjoyed our bowl (with steak) almond flour chocolate-chip cookie 🍪 and a cappuccino ☕️ Avocado 🥑 toasts and smoothies here are really good too! That said, I noticed the level of cleanliness improved so much on the weekends! Great job guys. Will be back for sure!

I was recommended this place for a meeting as I am more on the Salad diet. I was not sure what to expect from the place, but I am happy that we went there. Good options for a Vegetarian like me and I loved their Mexican Salad. Right from the ingredients which were so fresh to the presentation, everything was perfect. Very helpful staff. Keep up the awesomeness. Definitely recommend if you are in Downtown Toronto. The lift smoothie was amazing too, definitely lifted my spirits.
