IL FORNELLO - Bayview Village

Everyone there was bustling, except this one guy who was standing there for half our visit with his hands in his apron. Only white dude there, short hair, clean shaven. Just standing there watching, every once in a while commenting to coworkers. I don't get the feeling he's incredibly well-loved either. About half way through he started to work. So he stood there for AN HOUR. I think that restaurant is better off without the ornamental staff member sharing in the tips. The rest of them were amazing. If he was any level of leadership; even more shame on him. If it was his very first day... But I doubt it. Waiters would be helping him learn, etc. But other than that, everyone else who was working around the human statue were all amazing!

Amazing Food Amazing Staff Amazing Place We came to the the Bayview Village to visit the stores and we decided to eat at the Il Fornello Restaurant here. We walked in with everyday work clothes. From the Hostess to the Busboy, we were treated like we were very important people. We were treated with respect, courteously, kindly. We didn’t expect that to tell you the truth. Our server was excellent. She gave us the time to peruse the menu and even answered questions we had without us feeling we were a burden. She didn’t interrupt us every few minutes either. We actually enjoyed our meal immensely. The food was creamy and perfectly portioned for people that are hungry. I only could eat half of mine. We loved it. Will recommend it to everyone

During heavy snow, we decided to come to a nearby shopping mall with indoor parking. The dinner prix fixe menu is a bargain on the table. The Salmon has fried with a crispy skin but a little bit overcooked. The Gorgonzola pizza used a strong favour version of Italian blue cheese. The pasta is well prepared. We ordered all three options of dessert. The raspberry sorbet has an approachable sour taste to clear up the fullness. The Tiramisu is a good one. The Orange Polenta cake is made up of the almond flour in which it shows different texture and a nice orange favour

Had a great dinner here with friends. The vegan and vegetarian options were plentiful, and I'll probably go back to try more! Orange polenta cake was delicious, and the avocado cashew Caesar salad was probably the best Caesar I've had in years!

From the super friendly hostess, to the ‘attention to detail’ serve staff and the magicians in the kitchen, by far, hands down, without a doubt, the BEST place to eat in Scarborough/North York. Delicious salmon on their price fixe and the alla Norma penne was to die for! Generous portions, but don’t forget the warm olives!

Decided to give the two course menu a try. The salad, soups, and the pasta was good and flavourful. I had the avocado salad with good amounts of nuts and avocado put into the salad. The potato soup was good, a bit salty. The veggie pasta tastes good. Only the pizza was soggy,.I'm not sure if the temp wasn't high enough or the way the pizza was baked. I forgot to take pics of the salad and pizza. Also, the waitress we had was very attentive and will check on you.

Upscale Italian restaurant with a large menu, including lots of vegetarian options. They also offer a fixed price combo for dinner which includes a salad, entree, and dessert for $38. The restaurant is quite busy, but no wait for a table, and food is served relatively quick. They are located inside Bayview Village and there's free parking at the mall. I will return to try more of their dishes.
