I recently visited HWUNET BAR & RESTOURANT, and it's a hidden gem for foodies of all preferences! The menu (Eritrean/Habesha food) is impressively inclusive, offering both delicious Vegan options and indulgent non- vegan dishes, making it a perfect spot for mixed dining groups. For vegans, the "Beye-aynetu" dish was a standout brusting with fresh, vibrant flavor and plated beautifully. On the non- vegan side, "Keyih-tibsi" stole the show. Cooked to perfection and paired with thoughtful sides, it's clear the chefs prioritize quality and flavor. Me and my girlfriend have never tried Ethiopian food before, but have always wanted to. On our vacation in Toronto we decided to stop in. Both bar patrons and employees were very welcoming into a very clear family atmosphere. We ordered Veggie Platter and ChaCha with Beef. It was SO GOOD Flavor out of this world, you must stop by to enjoy the music, dancing and food!

the BEST without question. This place blows every other Ethiopian / Eritrean restaurant in the area out of the water. The staff are amazing, the food is amazing, the atmosphere is amazing. I cannot rate it highly enough. There is nothing I don't love about this place. My favourite spot on bloor west by a MILE.

My husband and I LOVE Hwunet. We were walking by one day and there was this delicious smell coming from inside and we had to follow our noses. I cannot recommend the food enough it's delicious, and a unique experience. We were so impressed that we talked to the server about events and even booked our rehearsal dinner for our wedding here! We were so well taken care of and our guests still rave about the food. Whether you book and event here or just a meal, I promise you'll be glad you did

Without previous knowledge, we showed up to this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised that this food was very similar to Ethiopian which we loved. we have zero complaints about this place.
