Hutchie Catering & Caribbean Restaurant

What a gem! My husband and I have been ordering meals on Uber Eats from this place for the last few weeks, and noticed a business card in our last order advertising catering services. We decided to order a tray of jerk chicken for our holiday party and it was amazing! The delivery was prompt and hot. This was the only dish that had no leftovers! Will certainly order again. Also, they make the best festival I've ever had!!

A mind-blowing fusion of land and sea, the jerk salmon is slathered with a generous dose of jerk paste, that offers a delightful balance of smoky, acidity and a subtle sweetness in each bite on top of one of my favourite fishes. The moist rice is the perfect canvas for absorbing the unbelievably delicious oxtail curry, delivering a meaty, beefy explosion of umami with each bite. Sauteed bell peppers and boiled veggies accompany the stars, providing contrasting textures and vibrant colours. Despite its browner appearance, the goat curry was the highlight. The rich curry flavours permeated throughout each bite, the soft rice, creamy beans, and the harmonious mix of lean and fatty cuts of goat. Each tender bite retains that distinct lamb flavour I adore, and not a single molecule of curry was wasted today.

Im very happy that Hutchie took over the spot which was formerly Cool Runnings. No affiliation, but comforting to not lose Caribbean flavours in the neighbourhood. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, and it’s a nice chill intimate dining space if you’re not taking it to go. So I trust Hutchie so much that I actually tried cow foot soup for the first time (don’t tell my mom). The soup wasn’t holding back, hoof everywhere in this soup, tender, flavourful… I actually did send this picture to my mama. When you go, pause and say hello, everyone working there is very nice and not stush up like most of these other places further East or all the way North West

Hutchie's is the best bang for your buck. The food is amazing, the proportions are generous and the service is great. I had my hand in a cast and the server saw me struggling. She came to the table and cut up my chicken for me and I think that is really sweet of her to do.

Hands down one of the best beef patties I’ve ever had! Fresh, soft and packed with beef unlike other places that are disproportionate with their meat. Ate it too quickly and wasn’t able to snap a pic haha!Spice level was also perfect! Staff were very friendly. 5 star service all around! Incredible value and can’t wait to return and try out other items on the menu!

No matter what you feel like eating … go to Hutchie’s for an amazing meal. Dining at Hutchie’s is like going home. Yes, Hutchie’s is a real person and he puts his heart into each meal. He works the back and Annalisa works the front bringing you the good good — like jerk chicken, fritters, sweet fried plantain, jerk chicken, stew chicken or stew fish. But if you’re still in the mood for breakfast, you can’t beat their plate of pancakes topped with fresh fruit alongside eggs, bacon and hot dogs !!! They’re my favourite Mom ‘n Pop restaurant for taste and care for sure 💯

It is with a heavy heart that I have to write this review because the restaurant seemed so promising. My friend and I both ordered oxtail and it was beautiful. The meat fell off the bone. Portion sizes were pretty good too, but the flavour wasn't there. There was too much browning and not much other flavour. It was salty and mild. We paid over $55 dollars including extra gravy, which was not only not necessary but not worth it. The coleslaw was okay but we couldn't figure out if it was supposed to be creamy or vinegar. It's a damn shame.

Hutchie food was amazing. Tons of delicious flavour in the two curries we had (chicken curry and goat curry). Also had goat head soup which was very tasty as well. Goat head meat was very tender but very hairy. Not sure if that was normal. But I just turned it over and ate it anyways. They also have beer which tasted refreshing on their small and cozy outdoor patio. I’d recommend and will be coming back when in the neighborhood. I was sad they had run out of doubles already by Wednesday at noon.
