I was double minded about this place at first but oh boy did they deliver. Their hot and honey chicken sandwich was phenomenal. Everything was perfect. Temperature, flavor, quality of the bun , chicken , ingredients. Simple place, sweet staff, cannot wait to go back and try their brunch menu. Pancakes look amazing!

Food was good, but service was slow and not very friendly. I ended up standing up at ask for the bill after not being noticed for almost 10 min. Water was not refilled until I asked but was brought promptly after arrival.

Rating: 4/5 Stars We had an overall great experience at Hugs and Sarcasm! The food was fantastic — the fried chicken sandwich, in particular, was a hit, especially for my celiac girlfriend who was very impressed with their gluten-free options. The food came out quickly, which makes sense since we went during a non-busy time, and the atmosphere was welcoming. However, our main server could have been more attentive. They often forgot our requests and seemed unsure about certain policies, having to check with the manager a few times. This slowed down the service a bit, and we had to give a couple of reminders. On the bright side, the British server who helped out was excellent — super attentive and really made sure we were taken care of. Despite the hiccups with our primary server, the quality of the food and the effort from the rest of the staff made it a memorable visit. We'll definitely be back!

Came here for brunch and was not disappointed. The portion sizes were good, food prepared well with crispy home fries which I find a lot of places undercook. Service was quick and courteous, prices pretty reasonable. Would come back again and maybe try something different. Can accommodate gluten allergies and have a wide range of options.

Ordered a soda water, the hot & honey fried chicken burger, mini Greek salad, and mini-fries (not pictured). Pros: The prices are really great especially for Queen street west! Lovely staff too and it’s in an easily accessible neighborhood. I enjoyed the burger too. Cons: I wish they used a non-creamy looking dressing for the salad. The fries were also very salty—was surprised by this as I know this is a gluten-free/celiac conscious place. Also, the location means that if you sit on the patio or close to the window, you’ll get disturbed by passersby who can interrupt. They were also out of non-alcoholic beer at past 1pm. Will return regardless to try other dishes.

I recommend anyone who comes here to get the proper fry up!! Worth the price and comes with a lot of food. The toffee pudding and antojitos were good but nothing exceptional. It was fast to get our drinks but food took awhile, however staff did apologize for such delay. Service was a little slow despite not being as busy but they were friendly and welcoming. The place was a little dirty but nothing too bad. And the atmosphere is cozy and fun. While it’s a small place, they do their best for seating. Theres outside patio, first level and upstairs. They offer gluten free options and the options are great! While I think there’s a few things I think they can change to make it 5 star, I would definitely come back again!!

Great gluten free food at this place! First time I'd had a fish and chips in over a decade. The service was slow, so I'd suggest ordering the first chance you get. I ordered a draught Cider and it was kind of tepid. I'd reccomend ordering with ice if you like cold Cider. Will return since the food was good but the bar atmosphere wasn't super comfortable. The music was good.

WOW - that was a great breakfast. Everything was truly perfect. Service was excellent, super knowledgeable on the menu and knew how they could accommodate for my gluten and dairy allergy. The coffee was smooth and tasty, the potatoes were soo crispy, the gluten free bread honestly tasted exactly like regular bread (according to the non-GF people at my table), the chickpea patty was super flavourful and the portion for the price was a steal. 100% need to come back here and try the pancakes 🙊
