Hug Sushi Richmond Hill (Sushi Takeout)

This was some fantastic sushi. A big problem I notice with rolls nowadays is that many places fill them with too much cucumber or wrap them in too much rice. Not this place. Aside from that, the salmon was excellent, and the unagi was perfectly barbecued. The Torch Salmon Roll, Honey Mustard Roll, and Black Dragon Roll were all amazing.

Hug sushi - Toronto. Richmond hill. Stumbled upon this take out place. I regret visiting due to my poor experience. This tiny take out place blocks you off to a tiny take out window which barely has enough room for 2 people if more, forget about it. I end up ordering a head of time and had to pay in store which isn’t a big deal. When I got there I was asked - cash or debit card? I only had credit card yet I was asked again the same question a second time but in a threatening tone. I couldn’t been more clearer that I only had a credit card. (Truth be told I was ready to walk out.) they ended up making an exception for this time yet next time was ask to pay cash/debit card. Your website does not state that you’re limited to certain payment types, no need to threaten or lie that you can take credit card as payment. It’s absolutely baffling how the type of payment was an issue when I was ready to walk out and on the business end they didn’t want to pay the credit card fee. Like damn great way of getting business from your customers. You don’t want to do business with me, no problem. Might want to re-learn how to attract and do business with customers.

Ordered the 100 piece sushi-sashimi-maki platter. The quality of the fish was good. Very fresh and the price was more than reasonable 80$ for 100 pieces. Will definitely order again from here. The only downside was that the service was not great . Our pickup time was for 6pm and our order was only ready at 6:30pm. The workers also seemed quite flustered with the orders as it didn’t seem so organized. I’m guessing they were more busier than usual since it was thanksgiving weekend. Do recommend for the quality of the sushi and the incredible value!

The quality of this restaurant has significantly dropped. I used to be a regular customer, often picking up large sashimi trays that cost over $100 because I could always count on getting top-quality, fresh fish. However, my recent experiences have been disappointing. They’ve started replacing the premium sushi with much lower-grade fish, which is a noticeable downgrade. Given the price point, it’s just not worth the money anymore. The value and experience that used to make this place special are no longer there.

This was our first time ordering from Hug Sushi Richmond Hill location. Disappointed by false advertising We ordered 804 assorted sashimi (80 pieces), was charged CASH ONLY and had to pay tax on it with no discount. Usually some places split the “tax” the customer since business already collecting cash. This place does not. That’s fine, but that’s not the main problem Came home and noticed the sashimi they gave is different from their menu. There’s a big price difference between Botan shrimp vs Amaebi shrimp. They gave us amaebi shrimp instead of what’s advertised Just a heads up, anybody that is expecting Botan shrimp based on the menu, you may be surprised/disappointed Normally don’t leave reviews much, we’re truly disappointed so leaving one here. May call back to voice concerns that they lost our interest as repeat customers

This is always my Sushi Party to go. I’ve been ordering party tray from them ever since Covid started, their quality is really good and I’m glad that they are still keep their quality with the economical price. There was once I even brought my own 3-tier bento and ask them to put my party tray order in it instead. The chefs made a great presentation for me. I’m very satisfied every time. #807 is always my favorite tray!!

Convienence : Order on line. Received SMS message for pick up in store. Staff and service : no such horrible feeling, even we ordered on busy Saturday night. Food Quality : above average among others Japanese takeout Price : Competitive Satisfaction : reasonable to feed 4 adults Atmosphere : no rating (come and pick up takeout ) A day before Mother's day, ordered Assorted sashimi, sushi & roll platter mix 100pcs (cost : Cad80.00 only).. Nothing to lose !
