Hou Kee Chinese Bistro

The food was delicious and affordable. The store was clean and the service was great, except the restaurant was small with only three tables and chairs. If you need to dine-in, consider the seating situation. Not many parking spaces around. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to others.

We visited this place in a Saturday evening. The pork knuckle with rice is real good. Highly recommended. I always dreamed of having this dish in Longjiang, China but didn’t get a chance. Fortunately this place is a small gem on Yonge. This restaurant is small but looks like the owner tried hard to make the interior look similar to what you might find in Guangdong. Such as the plastic seats and foldable tables. There are other Chinese places in Toronto pretending that they have the same dish, but they are all kinda fake after I came here.

Came here to get takeout for lunch, I thought the price was great for a good size serving of pork knuckle rice. The meat had great flavour and was very tender. Restaurant had some small tables for dine in but space is limited. They also offer just the pork knuckle so hope to come back to try that as well.

I always get takeout here whenever I'm in North York to bring back home. It's ridiculously tough to find a place that is under 11 dollars pre-tax for a meal nowadays, and it's even harder to get a decent portioned one within that price range. Everything included in the rice combo tastes great. It's very hearty. It's a huge bonus for me that the knuckles are boneless. I hate to admit but I tend to lean away from meat with bones because I am a lazy eater 🤣 Note that there is only cash and debit as payment options.

Friend recommended. Affordable and yummy, with balanced nutrition as well. The radish is surprisingly delicious to me. Chinese northern east (Sushi grade) rice used at this price. Infused with the sauce. Amazing.

I’m so excited when they start selling pork hock only for take out. It’s 9.99/lbs and this piece here costs $14. I finished it all by myself and it was so satisfying. The meat is tender. Bone comes off easy. The layer of skin and fat is thick and chewy full with collagen mmmmmm It comes with a free pickled radish and if you need to add more, it’s only 50 cent. Enjoy!

Cute take out spot in the Finch area, although there are a few tables now. I went here for lunch with a friend, I got the pork intestines and she got the pork knuckle. Everything was really flavourful and the lunchboxes were prepared super fast and efficiently. They were also filled with a lot of food so the portions here are big! Good price point but note that they only take debit and cash. They don’t have much on their menu so it’s straight forward and simple, I would come again if I’m in the area!

Small takeout shop in the Yonge-Finch area that is best known for its Pork Knuckle Rice. The Pork Knuckle Rice is great value for money, with the takeout box completely filled. The pork itself is very tender and flavourful, and comes with sides of cabbage, tofu and egg. Compared to other takeout places in the area, it provides one of the better value deals. Recommended if looking for cheap takeout that is filling. Note that they are cash and debit only.
