Hot Rocks Creative Diner

We enjoyed a birthday celebration lunch yesterday at Hot Rocks and the food was amazing. We enjoyed the egg plant parm, pizza, and curry chicken penne. Very nicely decorated restaurant with plenty of seating and parking. The service was great. I had the pizza and it was one of the better pizzas I have eaten in a long time. Nice wood oven pizza and they have several different sauces to select from instead of the usual tomato sauce. We will be back again.

We have lived in Durham for years and back in Whitby for the last 7. We’ve heard wonderful things about Hot Rocks and tonight we had the opportunity to partake. I can say without a doubt, we will be returning many more times. My wife is vegetarian and restaurants in general don’t have a great selection to fit her dietary needs. She had numerous selections. From time to time I will have a vegetarian dish so we can share. She had the eggplant ( over a bed of polenta ) and I had the wood fired Verde pizza. The flavours were incredible and the service cheerful. Drink and desert selection was well varied as well. If you are looking for a casual dining experience with better than casual choices. Try Hot Rocks.

Ordered takeout crab cakes, burrata, mixed green salad, prosciutto pizza as well as two other custom pizzas and everything tasted great! Favourites were the crab cakes, burrata app and prosciutto pizza! Will definitely be back!

My third time getting take out from here. Never Disappointed. Food is top-notch. Staff is amazing. Even when I went in COVID times was easy in & out for take out. I have been 2 other times. One time was crazy busy, but always receive personal non rushed service even if it’s super busy. Shout out to the staff !! Sorry did not get names as I thought I had reviewed before. Cook on the pizza oven & waitress were outstanding

We lived in the neighborhood for over 12 years but never went to this place. Always walked by and the food smelled so good. We finally had the opportunity to sit and have a meal at this place. I have to say, it was one of the best meals and the best service. Thanks and we will definitely be back

This place is Whitby’s hidden gem! I don’t know how I’ve never heard of Hot Rocks before. The curried nachos are to die for! It sounds like a weird combination but trust me, you have to try it. The pizzas are very unique and flavourful as well. The Cajun pizza was delicious. Great atmosphere and great service

An absolute 5 star experience here. We stumbled upon this spot along with like 5 others, but I’m so happy we chose to come here for lunch. Our server, Cate was so professional, friendly and quick. We got the traditional pizza to share, the lamb shank and the special of the day (shrimp curry wrap). The latter reminded me of Guyanese shrimp curry with the style of the wrap and the taste, but with a twist and it was divine. Places like this make the dining experience so much better, when care is put into the output of everything. The small details (like the presentation of the tea with saucer, napkin, spoon, milk, sugar) were not overlooked and I appreciate that. In the hustle and bustle of everything, small details usually get overlooked at other dining spots, but not here. If you’re like me and you look forward to extra good care, service and standard, this is the place to come to. Can’t wait to come back and try the other delicious dishes!

Went to try out their famous pizza. Upon arrival was greeted by a friendly staff. The place has a calm and peaceful vibe. They have a wide variety of wines and other drinks. Had the spicy cajun chicken pizza and the truffle fries. Loved both the dishes. Thanks for a great experience.
