Overall pleasant experience. Just a heads up that I am strictly on seafood and vegetarian diet. Vegetable dumplings we ordered are not vegetarian. Some meat there. I had tofu bibimbap which was very delicious. Also ordered grilled mackerel but was surprised to see it was smoked half fillet that was grilled, not fresh whole grilled. I can get the smoked version very cheap at local European grocery store. Side dishes were looked forward to and did not disappoint. Very tasty.

Ordered the spicy seafood noodle soup and the cheese tonkatsu. The flavour was great and the service was fast. Would highly recommend for anyone that loves authentic Korean food. Will be coming again.

Had dinner here for the first time and the service was fast. Very accommodating for kids. Love the side dishes that come with the meal. We will surely come back to try some other dishes

Writing this review not to earn a free fried dumplings 🥟. They deserve such a rating since it aligns with our taste bud. Every single dish is very tasty and flavourful inclusive the side dishes. Initially I was doubtful with the review until I tasted it. Service was great and not to mention their fried seafood pancake, pork bone soup and seafood tofu soup warm your heart for such a cold winter. Thanks for your meal 🍽️

PLEASE don't trust the high review rating - they're all because they give you free dumplings for a 5 Star review before you even eat. You can tell from the high number of reviews and how many they get in a day (sort by recent), especially from people who don't review much. Because of this, I was suspicious of their ratings from the beginning and I'm sad to say my gut feeling was right. The bulgogi was so dry I had to dip it in my soup. The soup & kimchi was spicier than you'd expect. The mackerel was quite small. They forgot one of our orders until we were almost done eating and when we asked for a tea refill they took the pot away and never gave it back. Service was basically non existent unless you wave them down even though the place wasn't busy. The pricing isn't very good either for what you get. I'm giving 2 stars only because the side dishes were decent, but I don't like that they're bumping up their reviews and misleading others. I definitely won't be returning.

Absolutely amazing! The army stew pot at Hongdae Korean Restaurant is hands down the best I’ve ever had. It’s packed with so many ingredients—perfectly cooked meats, flavorful dumplings, and a variety of toppings that make every bite satisfying and delicious. The broth is rich and savory, bringing all the components together beautifully. On top of that, the side dishes are a standout on their own!
