Hikari Sushi House

Ordered on skip the dish for their 12 piece special of salmon, tilapia, red tuna, white tuna, sea bass, sea bream, unagi, scallop, surf clam, octopus, squid, and albacore tuna. They replaced with less variety and did not inform me. Even worse it was not fresh. It was obvious after the first bite that they used leftover rice from the day before. The rice had no flavour and the fish was topped with an extreme amount of onion and ginger to mask the quality of the fish. Even the lemon wedge garnishes were wilted and unappealing. I was a regular with the original owner and would make the trip to pick up. After ownership changed, I did not have a pleasant experience. I saw they they offered delivery and decided to give it another chance. Never again especially since I can get the same variety and freshness at a supermarket at half the price

Seems like the overall quality of the place has gone down. ButThe sushi used to be thicker back then, but lately it has been like a thin slice. The surf clam sushi tasted like it was old. Not sure if I will come back next time.

TLDR: This is a takeout only place for the most part but they do have a few tables off to the side if you are looking to eat your food there. The quality is pretty good especially for its price. They also have a vast menu, and discounted pricing if you order directly through their website. Parking can be tricky as the plaza doesn't have that many spaces so keep that in mind! -[SPICY SALMON RICE PAPER ROLL] $8.99 🌶 Various vegetables, cucumber, avocado, and spicy salmon were rolled with rice paper 🌶 This is a great carb-free alternative for normal maki, and still quite filling 🌶 The roll is also typically $9.99 but is discounted by a dollar on their own website -[SPICY SCALLOP ROLL] $9.99 🌶 Stuffed with chopped scallop, tempura bit and spicy mayo 🌶 Super tasty because scallop is something I always enjoy as long as it's fresh 🌶 Normally the roll is $10.99 but it's been discounted by a dollar on their own website I'd be interested to come back, and try some of their hot foods as they have quite a variety of it too!

Looks better than it tastes. It really had potential but unfortunately missed the mark.. rice on most of the platter was hard (except the dynamite and salmon sushi). The fish was all dried out and some of the sauces were extremely salty. Can’t say much about the service or atmosphere because we ordered it as delivery. Too bad we won’t be ordering from here again.

This was my second time to Hikari sushi house today. Excellent place for sushi takeout. They have a small sitting setup if you are looking for a quick meal as well. I love their torched sushi set (Aburi Sushi Combo). I would recommend it to anyone. They use fresh ingredients and their garnish really makes difference in great taste. 10 out of 10 ! The owners are such a sweet, hardworking people. I want to try their platter next time.

Visited on Wednesday, July 9th, ordered takeout ahead of time - 2:30PM Called to order - customer service was knowledgeable and very friendly. Ordered - Lunch G Beef Teriyaki with Gyoza - $15.95 Lunch E Chicken Teriyaki with Gyoza - $12.95 Crazy Salmon Combo - $15.45 Shrimp Tempura (6 pieces) x 2 - $17.90 Veggie Gyoza (6 pieces) - $5.45 And at the time took advantage of the 20% Off paying by Cash. I very much enjoyed the Beef Terjyaki Lunch Combo - one thing I did notice was that with it being cooked sous vide I did find it difficult to bite into and into smaller pieces. I was basically forced to eat each slice whole instead if two smaller pieces. Obviously this is not a problem for some people but I like smaller pieces so I'm not potentially choking on it. Alternatively I could have cut it with a knife or scissors. Just something to note if you like eating your steak in smaller pieces. Otherwise, very good highly recommend - love when steak isn't overcooked to death. (I always get extra teriyaki sauce on the side). No comments on the chicken teriyaki or Veggie gyoza as I ordered it for someone else. I'm sure it was still very good. The tempura I was surprised. It wasn't prepared in the typical Japanese tempura style and also had a spicy mayo sauce instead of the liquid tempura sauce. The miso soup didn't taste like much and also had a ton of other veg which I didn't really want so probably better off just making miso soup at home. Having a small stomach capacity I very much enjoyed the Crazy Salmon Combo and will definitely be ordering it again. The rolls, the sushi and sashimi were fresh and wonderful. I will definitely be trying out a small platter of their sushi and sashimi next time. Service was quick, again customer service was very friendly - a definite try if you're in the area. Will definitely be adding this to one of my go to Japanese places if I'm ever having a craving and will be recommending to my friends in the area. 4/5 Stars for me :)

What an amazing restaurant!! 💕 I love it! I simply visited the restaurant, because the restaurant provides a 20% discount (cash and pickup only). Turns out their sashimi and sushi are the best sushi I have ever eaten. I highly recommend this high-quality, fresh sashimi and sushi at an affordable price. I just ate them, but I cannot wait to visit there again!

The best sushi that I've ever had in the last couple of years! I live in downtown Toronto, but went all the way to Richmond for this newly opened sushi restaurant, as my friend highly recommend. Great quality, reasonable price, and kind staff. A little bit of improvement for their miso soup is needed. I will visit again definitely.
