Hibachi Teppanyaki & Bar is a new restaurant in Toronto opened more than 6 months ago.

Hibachi, also known as Japanese steakhouse or Teppanyakiis a post–World War II style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. The word teppanyaki is derived from teppan, which is the metal plate on which it is cooked, and yaki, which means grilled, broiled, or pan-fried. The master chefs will dazzle you with their samurai like swordsmanship as they slice, dice, juggle and entertain while preparing delicious food on a sizzling Teppanyaki grill.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hibachi Teppanyaki, (first time) and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the tone for a fantastic evening. I ordered the Peach Blossom and some hot sake,it did not disappoint. The dish was a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and smoky flavors. The tender meats and perfectly grilled vegetables were complemented by a delicate sauce that enhanced every bite. But what truly stood out was the service. The staff was incredibly attentive, professional, and friendly, making sure my dining experience was flawless. The hibachi chef’s performance added a fun and was super interactive. The pee man made me laugh a lot. I left feeling completely satisfied and already looking forward to my next visit.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I called to make a reservation DAYS prior to me coming in. I had planned my boyfriend’s birthday around the reservation. When I called, then said they could give me a table at 9:30 on a Sunday, even though they close at 10. I had thought this was odd but didn’t question the employees of a restaurant who should know their policies. On the day of (January 5th) I called again to make sure I had everything set and they had the right time and name. The employee informed me that I still, on the day of KNOWING they close at 10, had a table at 9:30. I went about my day, driving all the way from Oshawa, to then get a call less than 2 hours before my reservation time to let me know that they could no longer seat me because they close at 10. Then proceeded to go silent on the phone when I asked them what was they could do because I have driven all the way and made all my plans around downtown thinking we’d go there for dinner. How do you not know when you close? I spoke to 2 DIFFERENT employees who BOTH did not catch this mistake. I even asked if 9:30 was possible when they close at 10 because even I did not understand how that would make sense. Both times I was reassured. I will never recommend this place to anyone and with the absolute POOR costumer service, places like this do not deserve peoples money.

We have been to this location 3 times now. Each time, has been amazing! We have a child with allergies and both times we came with the kids (once without), they accommodated the allergy perfectly. Followed instructions precisely. This once again today allowed us to have a super enjoyable family dinner. Everyone had fun. The food, is outstanding!! So very good! The show is super fun! Very engaging and entertaining. We will definitely return again Edited to add: thank you for playing Taylor Swift yesterday! Added to the city-wife Taylor Swift vibes!

Haven't actually tried the food out. We have only been to the lounge that is located directly inside the front entrance before going to the dining room area. We love the lounge. It's quite small but beautifully decorated, which is the real reason why we choose to go there as our final stop to an evening out. The lighting is lovely, and they have played pretty good music on the occasions we have been there. The staff working there are always friendly. There is obviously a bar area to sit at, and there is also booth seating for 2 or more all along the window area. It's worth checking out if you are in the area.

My Experience with this restaurant! I had a fantastic time to celebrate my friend’s birthday at Hibachi, The chef’s performance was both entertaining and skillful, making the whole meal an interactive experience. The ingredients were fresh, and every dish—from the perfectly cooked steak to the flavorful fried rice—was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and fun!

Great restaurant! It’s not Benihana, but it’s good. The chefs put on a nice show, the food was excellent, though the drinks were a bit on the weak side - kind of boring, but otherwise fine. I think this place is perfect for family celebrations or small parties.

I had visited this place back in 2018 and came back again in April 2024. It was just the two of us but we liked the atmosphere. Really cozy. You don't really need a reservation. We ordered the Teppanyaki set of chicken, with additional chicken fried rice and a hot sake. The chef was good and did a live show of cooking our lunch on the hot table. It was really entertaining and the food turned out good. We also got some sides such as salad and a bowl of miso soup. It was about $100 for 2 people, including the tip. Definitely worth a try!

3.9 / 5.0 - Teppanyaki is always a great experience. This is located at the bottom of a local hotel. This is a good value option for Teppanyaki. Be clear, this is not a high-end experience. The Chefs were good overall. The service was mid - had to ask for drink refills. The food was also mid. Not bad, but the stacking of food left some items cold as they built the plate out. Overall it was fun for the price. There were a lot of couples and dates there. There are about 6-8 Teppanyaki table sections to dine at. So we sat with 6 other people at the 8!person half tables.
