Harbord Fish & Chips

I ordered chicken wings and fries at fish and chips, it was so good with the mayo. Also I have to mention that the wings and fries are so hot and crispy, perfect food for the perfect weather.

It's been a handful of years since I last got Halibut and Chips from here. Sadly it's not as great as it once was. Fish was greasy & tartar sauce more like a relish. Ordered 2 Halibut and received 1 large piece and 5 small pieces...so odd...like I got end of day scraps. New ownership? Will debate returning unfortunately. They seriously were the BEST fish & chips years ago.

i tried the haddock. honestly pretty good. fish has a nice crisp to it. fries were alright (thick—good thing). i just feel for the price and only one fish it was expensive. the fish is a small portion, fries were generous though!

I'll have to say the fish itself (halibut) was okay, I didn't find it to be very flavourful but the batter was pretty good. Their tartar sauce was just watered down relish which obviously tasted terrible with the fish. The French fries were good and a nice portion paired with their gravy which I really enjoyed was delicious. So if you want fries and gravy or a poutine (haven't tried) definitely come here for that. Cramped place and no working washroom.

Way too much batter and grease for a very small amount of fish. May have been a one off so will give it another try hopefully there will be more fish. The fish and shrimp tasted fresh and pretty good, not too dry! Fries were also not bad. For the price, which is on the more expensive side, I expected better quality and taste. There are definitely better places. 5 stars for the tartar sauce though, one of the best sauces I’ve ever had !!

Awesome halibut fresh, tasty and meaty with the fixings of homemade tartar sauce and lemon. Served in separate containers my Delivery came promptly with all the condiments I need to feel like I was at a beach storefront. I did order one piece but the size of the container looks like it was cut in half, so I got two pieces. I was also a client of this store with previous owners, for a decade or so. It's a slightly different type of batter and the tartar is homemade. I like a crunchy batter that's as close as possible to pub style. If they drain off a bit more oil before packing, and add a dash of salt it might be a bit crispier. There are few stores that serve fish and chips to begin with in the GTA. Support your local store and if you prefer a thick buttery and heavy morsel of fish, pay a bit more for halibut. If you have more people to feed and want a reasonable priced fish go for the haddock. Gravy is a large bowl but it needs to be much thicker. In general fish and chips isn't something I recommend for delivery. If you are in a car and it's close or you want a picnic it's fun to eat at the table at the take out in summer. The boyfriend used to go here all the time in high school, my first time today. The halibut was amazing! Couldn't finish one fish so we saved that for later, the server was very generous with the chips and I love all coleslaw. The coleslaw is minced veggies but I still enjoyed it. Personally I liked mixing the hot sauce tartar sauce vs the boyfriend likes his ketchup and tartar.
