Hank Daddy's Barbecue

I tried Hank Daddy BBQ quite some time ago and decided to go back recently. It wasn’t busy at all, but maybe because we went early. Drinks were on sale, so we grabbed a couple. I liked the drinks, and they were pretty esthetically pleasing. Tables and chairs were clean and decently spaced. Onto the food - the brisket was very tender and had a nice smoky taste to it, I just wish it wasn’t so fatty. The pulled pork could have used a bit more seasoning but I wasn’t mad about it. I don’t think I’d get the chicken wings again, the meat was pretty tough and dry unfortunately. I also thoroughly enjoyed the mac and cheese. I think the trio we got was more for 1 person, but it was enough for the 2 of us. I’d have their brisket again but probably just the brisket with different sides to try.

Me and my brother went here for lunch, and we thought the food was delicious! We ordered the pulled pork and beef brisket, along with the Frito Pie! Everything was very good, I can tell the food was made love. Amazing!

If you’re a meat lover, this place is your heaven! My husband and I had a great meal here. Though the ribs and sausage were delicious, every option was terrific, and the variety of sauces added much flavour. The sides were also tasty; we got mac and cheese and yam. The only downside was the food temperature; it wasn’t as hot as I preferred but a bit warmer than room temperature. It should be hotter for barbecues. That said, the service was fantastic. Our server (I wish I could remember her name accurately; I think Joat or Joe) was super attentive and polite, which made the experience even better. We enjoyed it and saved the place to be back 🍹🍖

The brisket was fantastic—tender and smoky. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy, a perfect side to the meat. Our waitress was also wonderful; she was attentive, very polite, and made the experience even better.

I tried the meat platter, and I have not ever seen so much meat in my life (also came with 4 sides). I think this is definitely enough for more than 4 people, and rightfully so. My group did not get close to completing our meal, but I enjoyed every bite.

Satisfied with the Visit, Great Service and Good Food I was pleased with my visit to this restaurant. The service was quick and efficient, even during a busy weekday lunch. The meat was well-cooked, but for my taste, there was a bit too much barbecue sauce, which overpowered the flavor of the meat itself. However, my son was very happy with his meal and actually enjoyed the generous amount of sauce. I also appreciated the "three types of meat" option on the menu, which allows you to try a little bit of everything. Overall, it was a good experience, and we left satisfied

While my experience had its highlights, there were also a few letdowns, resulting in a lower rating. First, the ribs were the standout of the meal. They were tender and had a nice texture, which made them enjoyable. However, the brisket fell short of my expectations. It was very dry and lacked the juiciness and rich flavour typically associated with good brisket. The predominant taste was the smoke, which was too intense and had an almost gassy quality that overpowered any other flavours. I decided to try Hank Daddy's because of the positive reviews and my love for barbecue. I was looking forward to a meal that would combine smokiness with a balanced seasoning. Unfortunately, while the ribs showed promise, the brisket didn’t hit the mark. The overwhelming smoke flavour was the most notable issue for me. While some might appreciate a strong smoky taste, it was excessive to the point of being unpleasant. I believe that a more balanced approach to smoking and seasoning could significantly improve the overall taste. In summary, Hank Daddy's Barbecue has some potential, especially with their ribs, but there are definite areas for improvement. I hope they can refine their smoking technique and seasoning to provide a more enjoyable and balanced barbecue experience. I'll consider giving them another try in the future, but for now, it’s a mixed review from me. kellychan360

Probably the best grilled chicken and mac and cheese in the City. We bought a 3lb tray of chicken and two XL mac and cheese sides and it was more than enough food for six people. I highly recommend this place. The waitress was incredibly pleasant as well. Five stars!
