I invited my friends on new year eve and planned to order food from this restaurant. I ordered around 09.30 p.m. Post ordering, the staff told me to reach by 10.00 p.m. I told my ETA is around 10.15 p.m. to which he replied following things • We will close the restaurant if you don't reach by 10.00 p.m. • I cannot do overtime for you • I cannot say my staff to do overtime Anyways, I sent my friend to pick up the food. While eating one of my friend found a piece of Hair in Chicken Fried Rice but he ignored. Then after few minutes my another friend found Hair from the same dish. A total of 3 hairs were found after that we stopped eating. Moreover Rice were uncooked, unseasoned and the taste was as if eating plain rice. Moreover the veggies in rice were also hard and uncooked. We took Chicken chilli to serve as a gravy with rice but the gravy was completely dry and sticky. I Will never take food from this restaurant due to the rude behavior of the staff and inferior quality of the food. I was embarrassed in front of my friends as everyone left the food and barely ate anything. I would not recommend anyone for take away as you might face the same problem. Please check the food before eating. Think twice before ordering!

I recently ordered from Hakka Legend for a New Year’s dinner gathering with friends, and unfortunately, I was left deeply disappointed. I had high hopes for this meal, especially since I ordered in large quantity to ensure everyone would be well-fed. Sadly, the experience was far from what I expected. The rice was the first letdown. It was poorly cooked—underseasoned, unevenly cooked, and some grains were still hard. It seemed like it had been rushed, lacking the soft, fluffy texture you expect from a well-prepared dish. It was almost inedible, and definitely not something I would want to serve at a gathering. Next, the Chicken Chilli was an even bigger disappointment. The dish was completely bland and lacked any real flavor. What should have been a fiery, savory delight was nothing more than a bowl of onions with a few pieces of chicken tossed in. The lack of seasoning and depth made it taste like it had been thrown together without any thought. It was hard to believe this was the same restaurant that people rave about. To make matters worse, we found three hairs in the food we ordered. That was incredibly frustrating and made the entire experience even worse. Finding hair in your meal is a dealbreaker, especially when you're trying to enjoy a special dinner with friends. Given that I ordered such a large quantity for my friends, this made the whole situation worse. We were all looking forward to a flavorful, satisfying meal, but instead, we ended up feeling let down. I left Hakka Legend upset and embarrassed for having recommended it to my friends. It’s frustrating to spend money on a meal that falls so short of expectations, especially when you’re trying to make a special occasion memorable. I won’t be coming back anytime soon.

I like their manchurian. Pocket friendly though service charges are high. The quality of food is so much nice. Loved it.

Recently visited Hakka Asian Cuisine, they offer a mixed dining experience with notable strengths in service but room for improvement in the food department. We began with the Chicken Lollipop and Shrimp Wonton as starters. While the Chicken Lollipop was crispy, it lacked the bold flavors we anticipated, and the Shrimp Wonton, though well-cooked, left to leave a lasting impression. For the main course, we tried the Singapore Rice, which was generously topped with seafood, including crabs, shrimps, and calamari. The freshness and quantity of the seafood were commendable, but the dish fell short on flavor, feeling somewhat bland and unbalanced. There was a slight absence of some gravy in every variety, so we ordered chicken manchurian which was absolutely delicious, being the starters dish of the night. The highlight of our visit was the attentive and efficient service. The staff was friendly, quick to respond, and ensured a seamless dining experience, which significantly elevated the overall impression of the restaurant. While Hakka Asian Cuisine shows potential, particularly in its generous portions and excellent service, the food could use more attention to seasoning and flavor to stand out. It’s a decent option for casual dining. Cheers !

Every time we ordered chilli chicken from Fedrick’s Markham location which is outstanding. In order to try something different we decided to order from Hakka Legend ‘the chilli chicken’ OMG WHAT A MISTAKE. It is bland very bland not spicy as it should be. It seems that the cook BOILED the onion and chillies in the water then added soy sauce and other seasoning and dump the fried chicken VOILA WHAT A RECIPE for DISASTER . However, Bombay chicken is the best. The onion and other ingredients stir fried to the best. I can vouch for this dish but not Chili Chicken.

Hakka Legend has great food! I love the curry chicken spring rolls. The staff are very friendly and they provide great customer service. My mom and sister both have celiac disease and this establishment goes out of their way to let them know what they can make for them that is gluten free and always make sure that they take great care when preparing their food. The chicken fried rice and chili chicken (dry) are very good. Glad this restaurant was recommended to me.

2020 review : Great experience dining in with them. Food taste is amazing . Not too oily nor spicy . Perfect blend of Chinese flavours. Lots of veggie options available. Veg pakora was amazing. Went at 11 30am when it wasn’t peak time. Soon people started coming and filled the place. Lunch combo was perfect. Very cheap and huge portion on food. Munchurian soup was delicious as well as fried rice. Very nice staff and reasonable price on alcohol. Would definitely go again. Located very close to Markham and ellsmere intersection.

Good quality hakka food with great taste and variety. The chili chicken and crispy ginger beef are served dry and are very tasty, complementing the noodle or rice dishes well. The hakka-style house noodles are a must-try as well - they come with your choice of chicken, beef, or both, along with the shrimp fried rice which is a house favourite. All dishes are prepared fresh-to-order and service is pretty quick, with the staff taking orders and serving food in an expeditious manner. There's ample seating available for dining-in, however it can get quite busy during dinner times and rush hour. The menu is also fully Halal. Be aware that a mandatory service charge is added to all bills, which represents an automatic tip. Overall, worth visiting for great Hakka food in the GTA!
