Hair Of The Dog, 425 Church Street, is an upscale neighbourhood pub and restaurant located across from Loblaws (the old Maple Leaf Gardens). A local institution that has been voted one of the best patios in the city. A downtown hotspot for an extensive craft beer selection, dinner, wine and cocktails, an amazing brunch menu. Voted best place to have a quiet drink. On the Southern fringes of the gay village and we love to host groups and large parties or drop in and have a quiet night in our second floor dinning room, complete with fireplace. South facing patio featuring three fountains and stone pond with ornamental grasses, an oasis in the city.

I went here with some of friends/ colleagues from work to have dinner with a long time Manager who resigned from our work. We had the best time ever catching up. I got the hair of the dog burger and it was great. I even got a pineapple, ginger beer and rum cocktail. It was very beautiful tasting for the drink. I had a lovely waiter who was very kind and also amazing. It was my first visit and I think maybe another time if I get the chance I'll come by again.

Tonight, we had dinner at our favorite Toronto Pub. It is an intimate restaurant with a (primarily) canine theme. The food is terrific, the beer selection is vast and the bartender can make you anything you can think up, well. The restaurant is walking distance from our hotel and literally meters from Maple Leaf Gardens. The staff is really friendly and welcoming and the menu has a lot of comfort food on it.

Great little place! Came here before a show at Phoenix and they had great food and service! Shout out to John for being above and beyond with his customer service! Felix was amazing at the bar and her cocktails were gorgeous!

Just got back from this bar I went to with my best friend tonight, and it was such an amazing experience! The staff were super friendly but not overbearing—they checked in just the right amount without that constant, “do you need anything? Is everything good?” vibe, which was nice. We ordered a bottle of wine, and it was a solid choice, really complemented the night. As for the food, everything was tasty and the prices felt fair. Definitely go for the pierogi as an appetizer; it was absolutely delicious. So, a great spot to chill and enjoy some good food and drinks!

Had a couple drinks and while the staff were SWAMPED (Halloween Night), they were awesome and upbeat! I highly recommend the “Sunburn” cocktail. Tell Car-Tender that Terminator got home safe :)

Awesome place with an eclectic menu. These guys can cook! The pozole was incredible! Very cozy venue, reasonable prices, and like everywhere in Canada apparently, they treat you like family. Highly recommend this place.

Finally it’s patio season. Came with my puppy and had the best experience ever. Server was super friendly and considerate. Water was provided for everyone and pup once we sat down. Food is amazing with great prices. Desperate services at restaurants in general have gone down significantly, HAIR OF THE DOG has exceptional services and great staff. Definitely will return again with my doggo and some other friends.

Lots to like here at this neighborhood gem. Great selection of beers on tap, and the food is pretty tasty. Portions are huge but if you’re extra hungry, go for the big dog burger!
