All ways a great place to go and enjoy some Japanese bbq. The service is was okay and could improve. Server stopped serving us after our meals came and didn’t take if we wanted dessert. We had to inform another staff member. The portion sizes have gotten small. But overall a good place to go.

First time experience and everything was great from the introduction, the explanation, the service and the food! Thank you! I’ll definitely be back! And thank you to Hien Vo for being a great server! 🙏🏽🇺🇸

Had an amazing BBQ session with friends. Introduced them to some of the cuts, and it was a nice learning experience for them. We loved all of our beef cuts. They also had the veg platter, which was nice. We followed that up with garlic noodles as well as stir fried rice with egg and beef. All of the dishes were a delight. The service was good and consistent throughout. Would visit again!

Wasn’t even busy night it’s like 60% full. We were seated at 7:10pm waited 70min for food to come, the party set portion is way too small. Bowl of rice and miso soup was placed on table 5min after sitting down and one steak was provided. 15min later we get a salad and a cold calamari then we were just sitting there grilling out face off for 40min. By the time the meats come the rice was already been sitting for 60min. Refillable drink were only refilled once in our 1.5 hour dinner time. It was 1.5hr of torture I had to pay for.

The overall review is good, but I was not satisfied with the service, the service does not match the price I'm paying for it. We were 3 people and we paid around 150 CAD in total. If you are going here I highly recommend 3 dishes, the rest are average: 1. Prime kalbi short rib - melts in your mouth like butter, main reason to go here. 2. Mango flavored Mochi ice cream - yummy 😋 3. Steamed chilli dumplings - very soft

This was the best lunch I ever had. Ever. Had their lunch special for $20 per person. You get three meat items. The meat was very soft and good quality. Not to mention their sauce options were soooo good! 10/10 would come again!

My recent visit to Gyu-Kaku was an absolute delight, especially for a meat lover like me. The quality of the beef was top-notch, with each cut perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. We ordered the meat lover's selection, and it truly lived up to its name—there was a great balance and variety of meats, all of which were incredibly satisfying. Although the portions might seem small at first glance, they are surprisingly filling, so definitely come with an appetite. The ambiance, while modern and clean, was a bit too close for comfort. The seating arrangement felt a little close to the other guest, almost as if we were sharing our experience with the table next to us. Maybe just my personal preference. Thankfully, there was a wooden border on the table between us, but it would be much better if there was a more substantial separation between tables to enhance privacy. The service was another highlight of our visit. The staff were exceptionally kind, attentive, and informative. As first-time visitors, we had several questions, and the team was very forthcoming and friendly, making sure we were comfortable and well-informed about the dining process. One challenge we faced was finding the entrance. After parking in the underground lot, it took us a good 15 minutes to locate the front door, which is tucked within a building. Some clearer signage leading from the parking area to the restaurant would be incredibly helpful, especially for first-time visitors.

They have happy hour discounted prices (mostly appetizers) on weekdays before 6pm. Happy hour prices are available all day Mondays. We came for early dinner on a Monday night around 6pm. We got a table right away. But on weekends I highly recommend making reservations ahead of time. Reservations for groups of 5 or more people are required. We ordered the set chef menu for two. It's about $60 pp + tax. I thought for what's included in the menu (4 different meats, plus pork belly, shrimps, and some sides, salad and rice) it was decent value for money. I did thought some of the meat were overly marinated. Overall I enjoyed my dining experience. Service was good and quick, can't really complain. Parking is free if you dine here. You have to park in a paid parking lot. Very tight spaces tho in case you drive a big car. Just remember to get the free parking ticket voucher before you leave.
