Gwalia Sweets and Restaurant - Scarborough

It was nice food with loved ones. Khushi was our server and order taker. She served us all the food items on time and step by step from starters to Desert. It's worth visiting again n again at this location of gwalia sweets.

The atmosphere, staff, and service are great at Gwalia. The food is quite good too, other restaurants have oily ones but these were perfect. However, the portion size of the Bhatura was disappointing. The restaurant should definitely look into that.

Amazing experience! The Indian vegetarian food here is absolutely delicious, with rich flavors and a variety of options to choose from. Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked. A special shoutout to Bhakti, our server, who was incredibly kind and patient. She took the time to answer all our questions about the menu and made great recommendations. Her friendly and attentive service made our meal even better. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Indian veg cuisine!

Gwalia is a great place to enjoy tasty, authentic Indian food. The restaurant has a nice, comfortable vibe, making it a good spot for families or groups. Their menu offers a variety of dishes, especially popular Indian and Gujarati options, all made with fresh ingredients and flavourful spices. Khusi is an excellent host who truly makes guests feel welcome. She’s warm, attentive, and always ready to help with anything needed. The dining experience was awesome! The staff was super friendly and attentive, and they were really quick to get us whatever we needed. The food was delicious, especially the desserts.

This was our first visit. The experience was not memorable at all, so may not go back. Ordered below items: Pav bhaji - portion was good. The bhabi was much chunky than expected and flavor was very ordinary. 1/5 Chole Bhature - portion size was decent. The dish was not served very warm. The Bhature were not soft and a crispy. 3/5 Bhakarwadi pizza - the kids enjoyed it a lot. If the base was not over cooked and burnt, I would give it full marks. 4/5 Imarti - SHOCKINGLY DISAPPOINTED. It was over fried (maybe multiple times) and they forgot to sweeten it! Yeah. And when I asked the server, she looked at me puzzled. She explained how jalebi and imarati are diff. Items! 0/5.

So we visited during the diwali weekend and here are our thoughts. Long waiting time. Took us 40 mins to get a table. There were LOTS OF PEOPLE lining up. Decent sized portions, good flavours. We ordered Chinese food. Hakka noodles(great) Schezwan noodles (average) , veg fried rice(good), veg Manchurian(great), Paneer veg Manchurian (terrible, don't order this. Paneer was too hard). Another thing which I didn't like was that orders came at different time despite ordering everything at the same time. Veg Manchurian arrived 15 mins before noodles and rice. I really enjoyed the Pani puri though and will return to have it again. The sweets were excellent too. I'll visit again on a weekday and update my review, I don't want to be too harsh on them for the waiting and service time since it was clearly a VERY busy evening.

I was thoroughly impressed! The food quality was exceptional, with delicious flavors, especially the bhakhri Pizza, which was the highlight of the meal. Definitely a place I'd recommend for anyone looking for great food and a comfortable dining environment! What stood out even more was the staff—they were cherished and smiling all the time, making us feel truly welcome. Their warm and positive attitude made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for its food, atmosphere, and exceptional service.
