Legit one of the most delicious karaage I've had the pleasure of tasting. I got the original and it was đ„. 3 pieces was a big snack, rice would make it enough for a lunch. Biggest pieces of karaage I've ever seen too.

Their karage is a signature dish; I have never tried any this good; the batter is unique, and you might forget other's karage once you try it from this place. The curry is okay, not bad. The portion is decent at such a price.

The rice balls at the Japanese comfort food stall are so gooooood. I got the tuna and green onion one and I loved it! The lady running the stall was very friendly and the service was fast!

This was my first time trying Japanese street food and I absolutely loved it. Gushi is located on Market 707 on Dundas West (they have another location on Gerrard Street, with different hours of operation) and they have a few picnic tables available in front of the market for you to sit down and enjoy your meal. They have great customer service; very friendly and helpful staff; we were asking many questions about menu and he patiently helped us pick the right options. We ordered âHot Maple Chicken Skewerâ and âTakoyakiâ for appetizer, âOriginal Chicken Karaage Bentoâ, âShrimp Fry Curry Riceâ and âNanban Beef Katsu Rice Bowlâ for main, and âMochi Trioâ and â3 Color Dango Mochiâ for dessert. Everything was presented very nicely and tasted amazing. My favorites were Takoyaki and Original Chicken Karaage Bento. In my opinion, Bento is a must-try here.

2024 May 3â Located on an open street among other street vendors, this one serves Japanese faire. Snack Basket $14 2 pieces of Karaage Chicken 3 pieces of Takoyaki 1 potato Croquette + Spicy mayo dip It's ok. Probably the chicken was the best, but it's overall just ok. A few tables along the street. If it is raining, there are tables you can use in the community center.

Got the Original Everything Bento. The sign says it's $14. The $14 box is not worth it for $14. It's so damn small. The large box is $20... And I don't think that the bento was worth $20. Nowhere on the menu did it say that the large box is $20. But, I digress. The food itself was decent. The chicken kaarage was juicy. The chicken skin was crispy and crunchy. There were 2 somewhat big pieces of kaarage in the box. The croquette was like some really good mash potatoes deep fried. The 3 takoyaki balls were decent. Tastes as it should. Everything in the box was doused with a heavy layer of spicy mayo. The edamame tasted good, the shredded pickled ginger was strong and helped cut through all that flavour. The purple rice had some flavour going on with it too. It was light, but it did taste somewhat sweet. There's a picnic table right out in front of Gushi Japanese Street Food shop. At the time of day, the table was directly in the sun. I had to wait about 10 minutes to receive my food. Food was decent, tasty. Filled my stomach. Would I come back here again? Not for that price I won't. Probably should have just gone to Nom Nom Nom Poutine instead. At least their basic poutine is under $10 for a good portion of food, I hear.

Taste good! The chicken is perfectly cooked, crispy out layer even after 10 mins. Couldnât taste the chicken itself as the spicy mayo is overpowered the taste of chicken but itâs good combination. I was a bit shocked by the price of large portion -$20 as a takeaway food. I ordered small portion, it was better than expected. So no complaints. The box is brimmed up.

Gushi is top notch for their fried chicken. Been here multiple times and always a great experience. The chicken itself has a great crunch and yummy flavour. Paired with the sauces and condiments and with the rice, you really can't go wrong with it. I highly recommend to eat it there, so you can enjoy it while it's nice and hot if possible. Service is always good as well.
