4.5/5 Cute, romantic cozy place. Not too big, not too small. Interior colour combination is good - antique and modern. All staff were very friendly and professional. Attentive. Food overall was good but on salty side. 7 layer dip was interesting and good. not sure jf it's worth $62 tho. Beef tartare was very salty so instead of re-making, we asked for some slices of bread and they charged us for the bread. it's not much but details matter. Lasagna was surprisingly good and eggplant was more Mediterranean style. Skate was a bit dry.

Fantastic service, lovely atmosphere, and all the food was amazing. The beef tartar was some of the best we’ve had and would definitely recommend splurging on the wagyu.

My cousin and I came here for dinner and were met with perhaps one of the most immaculate services we've encountered in a long time. We were seated in the very front by the large pane windows/entrance and, unlike the tables in the back, had no air circulation at all. It became very very warm and upon asking the staff if they could rectify this, we were told they'd bring out a fan to make our dining experience more comfortable. In addition to the consistent check-ins and attention to detail (changing of dirty plates/utensils in-between dishes, etc), I'd love to give a shoutout to Lauren who was our main server. Excellent personable skills, not forceful where we felt we were constantly watched, & she had such a lovely demeanour. Lastly, it was pleasantly unexpected, but our table was presented with a delicious full-size dessert on the house as it was my belated birthday celebration. I can't begin to count how many restaurants nowadays would sneakily add the item onto the tab, but such a gesture was greatly appreciated. I would definitely return with friends to chit chat over fun small shareable plates and yummy drinks!

We celebrated my husband's birthday here, and I'm so glad we did. The food was delicious! The ravioli and chicken stole the show. The sweet corn under the chicken *chef kisses*. The galette was good and wasn't overly sweet. I wish it had more filling, but that's just my personal preference. The atmosphere was great and music had me dancing in my seat! I would recommend visiting if you are looking for a good time and good eats.

A very nice place for a date, fantastic atmosphere and cool kitchen bar. The pasta was good, not the tastiest i've had but I only tried one here. The oysters were one of the most delicious varieties i've had. Their Australian oysters have a smooth, mild savoury flavour with a little sweetness, perfect amount of creaminess. Served in an adorable way with a hot sauce pipette. I didn't enjoy the combination of ingredients in the crudo, although the quality of the fish was good. The charred kale is so strong it overpowers the rest of the flavours. Definitely a very classic European flavour profile for a fish dish. Mostly savoury, fattiness and umami while lacking acidity or sweetness.

What a fantastic restaurant. Atmosphere and service were both on point. Dishes & cutlery changed before every new dish, water always filled, and all the items were described in wonderful detail. They even gave us an extra shrimp for the shrimp cocktail! For the stripped bass dish, they also gave us 2 separate portions of fish, which I noticed wasn’t how they served the dish to other patrons. I’m not sure if this was because they noticed we were sharing all the dishes, but it’s a really nice touch that’s easy to miss if that was the case. This is how you make an extraordinary experience. Grey Gardens does it almost on the level of Alo. The menu is small but all the dishes are very creative and offer good variety. It’s underrated but the bread here is delicious. The red tail grain they use to make their bread is really delicious and the bread comes out so soft in the center but crispy and chewy on the outside. Another highlight was the maitake dish. The barely they use at the bottom resembles a chewier risotto and the mushroom itself comes out so smokey. Not sure if this was from the cooking or from the addition of the black garlic in the sauce. Striped bass was also cooked exceptionally well. I’ve never had fish skin that wasn’t battered and fried come out so crispy like I had here before. I just wished there was more of it. The hand torn lamb noodle dish was also very flavourful and the lamb essentially fell apart within the dish.

Hidden gem in Kensington Market. Unassuming from the exterior with a pleasant interior with three seating styles: bar seating, tables and kitchen bar seating. The menu is limited but has a good variety fo choices. We had the 7 layer dip (good but pricey; I would probably try the smoked fish dip next time for a more economical starter). The Celery Root and Scallop dishes were amazing. Pretty plating and a perfect balance of flavours. The Tagliatelle was a bit underwhelming compared to the other dishes; it's decent but nothing special. I would try the Hand Torn Noodles next time based on other reviews. The Skate on the other hand was amazing - it looked and tasted almost like a brisket and was served in a buttery foam with lots of sauce. Would definitely recommend and would come back again!

We enjoyed the fixed menu at Grey gardens for new years this year. The food was top notch and the service was excellent. They have standard seating, however we sat at the bar which was very enjoyable as you were able to interact with the staff and watch them make all the excellent cocktails. My only "complaint" was how full we were when we left, everything was amazing! Definitely look forward to checking out their regular menu on our next visit.
