Greek on Portage

Our wonderful waitress Rose was very attentive and charming. The food ranked at the top of my experience of Greek restaurants (Toronto, Hamilton, St. Catharines). The atmosphere was very welcoming. The grilled calamari and the moussaka were so delicious that I wished I could have eaten it all over again. Try it, you'll love it. Its location is a bit out of the way, but there's plenty of free parking. Highly recommended.

Everything about this visit was fantastic. Our server was extremely pleasant and attentive. The establishment is decorated wonderfully. And, of course, the food was amazing. We ordered gyro and souvlaki. The meat was well seasoned and tender, and the potatoes and rice were great.

Looks smaller on the outside, but oh my goodness, this place is HUGE! The intimate details from the ceilings to the floor, it's really a beautiful place. The food was delicious, there were some talented people in that kitchen! Everyone is SO nice...it's a family business, and you can tell they take pride in their business.

Amazing atmosphere and food. Very friendly staff and a good selection of Greek food. Also have a banquet hall to hold parties from 20 to 200 people. Ample of parking

I haven’t enjoyed a night out as much in ages! The restaurant is perfect - beautiful atmosphere, Greek inspired decos but not over the top, spotless, perfect music levels so you can have a conversation… and the food..!!! 😍😋😍😋😍😋 Four of us shared 4 appetizers (eyes a bit big lol) with traditional lit saganaki, stuffed vine leaves, octopus and kalamari - all cooked, prepared and plated to perfection. Our entrees were equally wonderful and for myself, I don’t remember the last time I had lamb paithakia so perfectly seasoned and cooked! The portions were well sized, but given how greedy we were with our apps there were leftovers of course! We were also fortunate to have had the privilege of being served by one of the restaurants’ long standing associates - a waitress named Andrea who first started her career as an ice cream scooper! What impressed me the most about her was not just her natural & genuine friendliness, terrific and prompt service, nor her admission that she also holds a high school teachers position (so admirable but what does this say about salaries offered to teachers in Ontario?!), but that she had been with this restaurant for so many years I knew that not only was this a talented and experienced family run business but that they also must treat their employees considerately, fairly and like family! Kudos to “Greek on Portage”

Great food, came out very hot. I had the hummus which was yummy and came with delightful toasted pita. I had the chicken with a bruschetta tomato on top. The veggies and potatoes both had good flavour. Tried the Greek wine which I liked as well.

A great find, away from the hectic downtown area. The food and service was perfect. We had Saganaki as our starter, flambed at the table, Chicken Dako and Chicken souvlaki as our mains. Served with Greek potatoes and oven roasted veggies -these were superb-. Also came with small Greek salads and warm bread. The Greek wines only available there, were perfect pairings. We brought home half the food. Rose, our server was a gem. She made the experience even better. Check out the bar area, the owner has done a beautiful stained glass wall. What an artist.

Nice place, love the service. I don’t give them 5 starts on their food as the potatoes were a bit hard and the rice was old. However the lamb and stuffed chicken was really good 👍🏾 we will try this place again, it seems like they have a lots of events and maybe they got tight up on things. Waitress was very nice and accommodating she make our experience even more special. Definitely I will try it again!
