Grandone Fried Chicken

Ordered the fried chicken and shrimp sandwiches. I really liked the shrimp sandwiches, you can really get a grasp of the shrimp they used all made in a crispy crunchy patty. The chicken coating was good. Attached well to the chicken. Great sized pieces. The only drawback is the chicken wasnt cooked through and through. Ive ordered twice and had to toss it in the air fryer before eating it.

Grandone Chicken serves up Asian-style fried comfort food. Opening during the pandemic, they had a hot deal going based on the rave reviews. Somehow we didn't get the hype memo, as our order was far from a grand one. I'm glad the business is doing well so I'm sharing an honest opinion of the fried chicken and shrimp sandwich. The staff was surprised to have business on a weekend afternoon, and just sat under the cash register. Within our order, the fried shrimp sandwich came loaded in a crunchy patty with beans & veggies inside toasted buns. I was anticipating a good bite; the only problem was that it was rock hard without much flavour. Since I don't like wasting food, I didn't toss it out. The spicy chicken was crispy and seasoned well similar to Taiwanese fried chicken. Its only drawback was that the spice seasoning was quite salty. Not as ultra crispy as Taiwanese night market chicken but it'll do. One benefit of this location is that dessert is only a stone's throw away. The nearby Wooffles & Cream stall is always busy. The rest of this quiet food court seemed to have fallen on harder times during the pandemic though a return to office may help boost lunch business. However, we'll be getting our fried chicken fix from elsewhere at a similar price point.

I ordered this for lunch on ubereats. They had a Buy 1 Get 1 Free promotion which was an incredible deal. The popcorn chicken was spicy with a sweet kick to it. I'm surprised it was still so crunchy for a delivery item. The fries came soggy but that's expected. The fish sandwich was very tasty.

It’s not our favourite but it’s def worth getting it!!! Calamari is super crunchy! The batter and the squid ratio is on point!!

Currently they have a 50% off their whole menu promotion during the Covid pandemic. Their shrimp sandwich is very unique, it is not a full patty of shrimp, but shrimp and vegetables mixed with some kind of either fish or shrimp paste. The coating is fantastic, super crispy and crunchy, but you have to eat it right away to get that great texture. There is a strong white pepper flavour in my opinion. The bun was soft and had a good bounce to it and the sauce was delicious it compliments the burger well. Their fish burger was very good too, it kind of reminds me of a filet o fish and the old Burger King fish sandwich combined together, again it was super hot and the batter was very crisp and crunchy, the tartar type sauce was great. I think the star of the show is there calamari, I thought it was amazing. Has a tempura type batter and super crunchy exterior and a nice soft slightly rubbery texture of calamari that is perfectly deep fried. They give you two sauces, not the usual cocktail sauce. Their chicken is good too, although I feel that their seafood steaks the show. The chicken is all dark meat pieces which I love and the batter is very crunchy and not too thick, I feel it could use a little more seasoning, the spicy pieces are actually dusted with a spicy seasoning powder. Their onion rings are similar to Harvey's style. If you like fried chicken and seafood, it will not hurt to give this place a try...I definitely will be back for the calamari!

a new place for fried food! the chicken here was good. Nice and crispy! The calamari breading was awesome too. The extra star is for the shrimp burger that I think is the absolute winner on the menu! a ton of shrimp inside the burger and really enjoyed it a lot! they can get super busy as this was my second attempt to get food from them, but each time the person helping was nice and polite. This second time, I went earlier on a Sunday late afternoon around 5-ish and there was no line or any big orders for dinner yet! The only issue I had was that with the meal, a large bottle of pop was to be included, which was forgotten. Other than that, no issues and was very satisfied with the meal! Chicken is good. Love the taste and crispy texture. Wasn't a fan of the shrimp burger. Not sure what the patty is filled with but 10/10 did NOT like it. They currently have 50% off their entire menu until January 31st, 2021 so we definitely took advantage of this deal. I'd go back if I was in the area and craving some fried chicken. Btw their spicy isn't spicy at all. Think of it as seasoning with a little extra flavour.

Ordered delivery due to the 50% off promotion they currently have until Feb 4, 2021. The spicy fried chicken was very tasty, however it was very oily and I got the oily residue in my mouth for hours afterwards. The spicy chicken burger was disappointing and was only average. The buns were slightly stale and chicken was soggy. Not sure if it was due to the delivery time of 30+ minutes.
