Grains Fish Noodle 五谷漁粉

Discovered a soupy noodle spot specializing in fish broth. We ordered the Original Fish Soup, Fresh Tomato Soup and the Pork Chop Cutlet with Salad. The Original Fish Soup has a lot of pepper in it and can be a bit spicy if you have a low spice tolerance. Portion size here is generous and one additional noodle serving per bowl is available upon request. Their noodles have a super slippery soft texture and consist of a mixture of 5 different grain noodles. I've never had different grain noodles served together in one bowl at any other restaurant so it was a pleasant surprise. The Pork Chop Cutlet batter is thin and crispy. They also have reward cards available for you to accumulate stamps and the number of stamps is dependent on how much you spend per sitting ($10 per stamp) and not per visit so it's easy for quick accumulation. Once you complete the card of stamps, you can present it to the waitress to redeem a free snack. The only snack item that cannot be redeemed via the stamp card is the Deep-Fried Pork Knuckle with Pepper. The Pork Chop Cutlet with Salad that we ordered was actually redeemed through the stamp card and it's a full serving size and not a smaller serving size as many other restaurants. There are two entrances. One in the front and one in the back. They are closed on Tuesdays and they only accept Cash (5% discount) and Debit but not Visa.

Tasty fish noodles 🍜. They use fresher ingredients compared to other noodle restaurants. I had the tomato soup, and they use real tomatoes in the soup. Noodle bowls also include 1 free refill of noodles. The main drawback of this restaurant is that it is very cramped inside. It looks like a house converted into a restaurant, and half the restaurant is located upstairs. It was also quite warm inside during the winter. They only take cash (with 5% discount) or debit.

Good quality food. Specializing in 5 grains fish noodle. Lots of fish and toppings. The broth was clean and you can taste the time they put in. You can do 1 time noodle refill. The baked rice was good. taste, portion and price. Service of the staff was nice and kind. They do get busy at times. The amibiance is nice and clean. Think the building is a historic building. Parking is a bit hard was they are popular.

I saw that it’s a big heat after it changed their name and menu, so I came to try the most popular dish: The Fish Noodle. I was a little disappointed when I had the first sip of the broth, I felt like it got water downed, coz there was a strong fish aroma when you step in the restaurant but the taste in the soup is not as same strong as the atmosphere. Although the fish were thicker than other Fish Soup Noodle restaurants, I hope they can put a few more veggies in it. My friend tried the Spicy Pork Intestines Noodle, the intestines taste was good, the broth is still quite spicy for my friend even we already asked for less spicy.

Food was okay :/ Portion sizes are very generous for their price point. Original fish soup was okay. The broth was missing that umami flavour that you get from a really good soup. When we added in seasoning (white pepper), it helped but still lacked that umami flavour. The noodles were interesting. They were a bit too soft for my liking. The grouper fish portions were generous. The fish was flaky and delicious. Baked Pork Chop and Rice with Ketchup and Cheese was good. The sauce was flavourful. The rice was perfectly cooked. The pork chop was okay, ours was a bit overcooked resulting in some portions being on the tough side. Deep fried chicken wings with garlic were good. The chicken wings were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. However, seasoning was missing on the chicken wings. We could barely taste any garlic on the chicken wings that was supposed to be seasoned with garlic. Ice Lemon Tea was okay. It needed more ice and sugar. Our tea came on the lukewarm side instead of it being cold. The tea was good with a decent amount of lemon slices but it definitely needed a bit more sugar.

Newly opened restaurant specializing in fish broth noodles. It gets quite busy but we got a table pretty quickly. We tried the original fish broth noodle soup and a baked pork chop rice with tomato sauce. The noodles were a pretty generous portion with interesting noodles that were cooked well. The broth had a clean fish taste but it was missing some seasoning like salt and white pepper to give it some more depth of flavour. I also didn't love that they put so little vegetables in it like lettuce and preserved vegetables. It was overall lacking. The pork chop rice had a pretty good flavour but there were tons of bones in our order. Not sure how they cut the pork chop but almost every piece had small bits of bone. The prices are decent and you can use a stamp card to get yourself a free snack after a few visits.

We tried this new fish noodle restaurant the first time today. We ordered the tomato fish noodle soup and fried grouper salad. The noodle can be refilled once for free. Both taste delicious. The tomato soup was rich and flavorful. The fried grouper was crispy outside and juicy inside. We will definitely come back.
