Seriously, not enough people talk about the bbq chicken! It's fried chicken covered in bbq sauce. I ordered it for lunch yesterday, and it was SO GOOD that I had to return today to order it again! The salad and coleslaw that it came with was SUPER fresh; everything was delicious. The owner is always very polite and attentive. So glad that I found this place. I work in the area and have already started telling my co-workers about Gold Star.

Really nice, clean and delectable food; I had oxtail with rice & peas and my friend had fried chicken with rice & peas and we both said, the food was really tasty and well done. I texted my brother the business card for him to experience the same. Friendly service and easy parking. Thanks.

Chicken was not very fresh, ordered the bbq chicken and it was battered and deep fried which was not expected. Chicken had very little meat and I got the large. Coleslaw legitimately went bad, had a spoiled taste and texture. Gave 3 instead of 2 because I understand I came between lunch and dinner. Rice was good.

A place that will not win any awards on decor, but really great Carribean food. Ordered the ackee and saltfish while my daughter had some of the best jerk chicken she has ever had! Patties were great as well.

Came in on a busy day for them so did not mind the wait. Good area, vibe and the food is what you expect with good portion and veg on the side. Did not take photos but their coleslaw is good too. I ordered a reg. Jerk chicken and was not dry, really juicy 5/5 and a reg. Curry Goat. The reason I took a star off was because the sauce was not there! Pretty disappointed with that but atleast it had nice flavour. 4/5 for that. X2 reg dishes came out to $32.

It was by the grace of God I found this little gem not too far from my work. The wide variety of available items on the menu had my mouth watering, there were just too many choices to choose from (which means I will definitely be a returning customer so I can partake of each item). I chose to go with the snapper, it wasn't available though, only because its made FRESH TO ORDER. That was even better news to me, because now I can call ahead and order to have it ready to pickup or dine in. I opted to go with the OXTAIL, which was very moist, fall off the bone and was complemented well with the fresh salad and coleslaw. There are also a wide variety of tropical cold beverages available (also beers, etc.) As a kicker, they also serve porridge in the morning which is my go-to feel good, feel full, breakfast to get you through the day. I highly recommend Goldstar Caribbean Restaurant and Bar

I highly recommend Goldstar for their delicious food and friendly service! I came in for a quick bite to eat around lunchtime, and ordered the special. It was incredibly flavourful and amazing value for the price. I look forward to coming back again and again!
