I was a big fan of Golden Horse, but not of this location. I ordered the Fish cutlet ; the portion was normal, but it came with very little tartar sauce. They charge extra if you ask for more. You can see in the attached picture how little they provided. The food menu is also half the size compared to before. If you're looking for somewhere easy to book, this is the place. It always has plenty of empty spots.

Large roomy place with wood motif ceiling and walls with plenty of booth seating Their baked mustard sauce pork rice was excellent, nice pieces of crispy pork covered in a flavorful mustard infused sauce. Something different from the normal cha chaan tengs and highly recommended if you're in the mood for something different. The bread for their pork cutlet sandwich is one of the better breads I've received when ordering similar sandwiches in other places. It's basically almost a true baguette. Has it's own flavor profile. A crispy crust with a soft moist bread interior, amazing and a pleasant surprise, who would have thunk. Only negative point was that the sandwich could have used more salad dressing to complete the flavor profile. When the service staff was asked to provide some extra dressing, it was at a cost of $1 extra. Come on now, is there a run on requests for extra salad dressing for their pork cutlet sandwiches that I'm not aware of. Nevertheless I refused to pay as a showing of solidarity to my fellow Yelpers, Viva la Revolution! This lack of flexibility will influence on whether I will return or not. Normally my principles can be compromised but paying $1 for extra dressing is an abomination. Oh Canada,,.................

Great place for breakfast/brunch with fair price and lots of choices. Comfortable seats. Clean condiment containers - rare in similar restaurants! Will come back and try the lunch/afternoon tea/dinner menu.

They had a promo for free Hainan chicken with rice on Father's Day (when you pay for the other meals in cash). I was craving for sizzling plate steak, so I ordered a rare tenderloin steak with black pepper sauce. The steak arrived in two pieces; one of them was well done, and the other was medium rare. I don't like the texture of the one that was thoroughly cooked, but the black pepper sauce was awesome. The other dishes were okay, and their portions were average. Will definitely pay another visit.

What a surprise! I didn’t have expectations going into Golden Horse because of the rating on Google but we were pleasantly surprised! We ended up ordering meal dishes and a fried rice and everything was tender, flavourful and not overly salty. I even ordered 2 clay pot rices to go and they were also pretty good! Definitely will return again and will try other things!

Just had a breakfast there. For a ~$8 set meal with hot drink included, the cost to value was decent. Pork cutlet bun: 4.5/5 Freshly made and you can see the juiciness from the picture. I’d say it’s a must-try WHEN YOU HAVE TIME as I t was served after 20-25 minutes after the order on a busy Saturday morning (not complaining as the vermicelli was served pretty quickly) Vermicelli w/ satay beef: 3.5/5 Like what other reviews said it could have been more flavourful but at least it’s tender. Vermicelli w/ preserved veg & shredded pork: 4/5 The portion was good and the taste was above average. I’d recommend it. The broth of vermicelli was not salty and won’t make you feel thirsty compared to other restaurants.

We haven't been at this place for a long time as they are packed all the time. So we try our luck with late lunch. We got lucky to be seated as soon as we entered the restaurant. The ordering system is not that great with the QR code order system. It might be good for youngsters. If you need to make changes to your order, it is not fully enabled / covered. Each combo is around $15-20, which comes with a soup, main rice or noodle dish and a drink (for me will always be hot milktea). Fair portion and quality is mostly above other restaurants (茶餐廳) standard. It cannot go wrong with their dishes, won't be disappointed with their portion. I had the Portuguese chicken baked rice. At first it was set of a good aroma and the sauce consistency was great. But I think they used something different to thicken their sauce. Even when it was still steamy hot, the sauce was thick already. Also one thing to remember, if you like medium steak, you must tell medium raw steak instead. We asked for (三成熟 and gave us 五成熟). The good thing about this restaurant, they made a fresh one! Appreciate their remedy to the matter. We might go back a while later to visit.
