Gold City Chinese Restaurant

This is my go to place for lunch. It’s around the corner and convenient. Walk in and the family is sitting down for lunch and it smelt real good!!!!. I usually get the lunch special, which I can eat for two days. However? Feel a cold coming on, so I got the hot and sour soup and a spring roll. Bill was $10 including tip. Spring roll was hot, lite and crispy, think there’s water chestnut and water crest in them. Both tasted homemade and was ready in 5min. Excellent!!! Feeling better already. Next time I’ll ask if they can cook me up a fish like the one that they were enjoying for lunch, yummy!!!

Disgusting food, so disappointed. Inside, I wasn't sure if I was even in the right building as it was nothing like a restaurant / takeout. Unbelievable. Lady who took my order was friendly. Plenty of good Chinese places to choose from here in Milton, I won't ever be going there again.

Best chinese in Milton! My family has been getting take out from GC for close to 40 years. Since moving out of town I miss it and make a point to have it when I visit my parents. 3 stars for atomosphere just because they don't offer in restaurant dining anymore, and it's understandable.

I’ve been in Milton 15+ years. I’ve been going to this place as long as that. However, in the last 2 years I’ve noticed its been flying DOWNHILL! The person who answers the phone doesn’t annunciate his words and speaks so fast, which makes ordering food a NIGHTMARE. Once you get the food, you can GUARANTEE that SOMETHING WILL BE MISSING OR they have given you an alternative…you DIDNT WANT. Then there is the most important part…the LACK OF TASTE! I mean really, the most basic thing; the Sweet and Sour chicken balls were STALE and they forgot the sauce, Chicken Chow Mein tasted like NOTHING and has 8 little pieces of chicken, the coating on the shrimp was like play dough, the egg rolls (how can you possibly mess THAT up) had a weird sour aftertaste and it goes on! All that garbage for $80+ dollars 🤬. I’ve eaten better Chinese food at a MALL! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED…DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

I've been in Milton since 1983, and this is my go to Chinese take out. Food is consistent. For the past few decades I always know what to expect. I own J&D Tire and like us they have been long standing Milton business owners I love to support!!

Don't know if the timing was right or what but the dinner we just picked up from Gold City seemed a lot fresher than most Chinese restaurants. The flavours kind of all blended together and seemed pretty neutral but the tenderness of the beef, pork, shrimp, and chicken was very enjoyable and a change from the average experienced elsewhere. Will be trying them again to see if they can maintain that tender bite.

Love this place. Its our "Go To" spot for Chinese food in Milton. The food is consistently good, portion sizes are generous and the service is great. For one reason or another we have tried other Chinese food places around town but always end up coming back to Gold City. Nobody else compares to their quality and service. We only ever had one issue in all the times we have ordered there. We once got pork in our Shanghai Noodles after asking for none. When we called back the restaurant the problem was resolved without and hassle. Without question they replaced the dish. Before we knew it we were enjoying the same great tasting food we've come to know and love over the past 10 years. Can't wait for our next visit!

I paid cash and accidentally gave the girl an extra $20. She was honest, and returned it immediately. Then the older lady started scolding her in Chinese for giving me my money back. Never going back..
