Georgian House Authentic Restaurant

Got it! Here’s the revised review: I visited this Georgian restaurant and tried the mushroom soluguni and khachapuri, which were quite good. However, I didn’t enjoy the other dishes, especially the khinkali with mushrooms, which had an odd taste. The service wasn’t great; the staff seemed inattentive and made some unusual comments. The restaurant itself has a very old-style feel and isn’t modern at all.

I recently had the chance to try a Georgian meal for lunch with colleagues, and it was a delightful experience. While Georgian cuisine might be new to some (including myself), I can confidently say the food here was fantastic. Every dish was hearty, well-seasoned, and executed with care from start to finish. If you’ve ever thought Eastern European cuisine was boring, this place will definitely make you think twice. We ordered an array of dishes, including Traditional Georgian Salad, Stewed Beet Salad, Baked Mushrooms with Sulguni Cheese, Pork & Beef Khinkali, Chanakhi, Megruli Khachapuri, Pork & Beef Lula Kebab, and Chicken Shish Kebab. Each dish had its own unique character, and the standout for me was the way cheeses were used throughout the menu. The various tone of flavors and fragrances of the different cheeses added depth to every dish, from the salads to the Megruli Khachapuri (which might remind you of a cheese pizza at first glance). The kebabs were another highlight. Unlike the heavily spiced Middle Eastern versions common in Toronto, the Georgian kebabs were subtle and balanced. If I had to choose one style of kebab to enjoy forever, Georgian would win hands down. I also tried Nabeglavi sparkling water, and while it had a noticeably salty taste at first, reminiscent of natural mountain mineral water, it quickly grew on me. It was incredibly refreshing and complemented the meal perfectly. This small restaurant packs a surprising punch of flavor, and I can’t wait to return. If you’re looking to try something new and unforgettable, Georgian cuisine might just become your new favorite.

I recently visited Georgian House in Toronto, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The restaurant had a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and the service was friendly and attentive. Most of the dishes were good, with well-balanced flavors and authentic touches that made the meal enjoyable. However, I was a bit disappointed with the soups and a couple of other dishes, as they didn’t quite meet my expectations. The flavors felt a little flat compared to the rest of the menu, which was otherwise satisfying.

The food and the vibes of this place are just amazing! Delicious and tasty authentic Georgian food, great service and what a welcoming atmosphere.. They have live classic music some days and the whole place is so colorful and full of life. A Georgian friend of mine always takes me there, and it’s always a great experience for me. This time we were celebrating her promotion and we ordered a special sized Atcharuli khatchapuri.. and wow!! What a yummy dish.. So much cheese with a very soft bread and eggs.. You can see in the pics.. Really something you have to try.. She also ordered us Lobio qotanshi, super flavorful beans that were mouth watering.. My favorite has always been Khartcho, traditional Georgian soup with beef. I always have to order it. It’s a good portion but not so big so you can still try other things, like their Khinkali that are Georgian dumplings.. I recommend it. Delicious! I’ll definitely come back and I’m falling in love with the Georgian culinary. Place always with beautiful people and great Georgian wine. The whole experience makes you feel like you’re in a little Georgian land in Canada. Highly recommend it. Thank you guys for always welcoming us warmly and take good care of us.

Like most Georgian restaurants, the hardest thing is to pick what to get. I went with safe dishes and was not disappointed. I went with my vegan friends, and this place had a surprisingly good variety even for them. I will definitely come with the rest of the family for another round.

Authentic Georgian restaurant hidden in an unexpected location and beautifully decorated..however… The service was not good. George, I believe his name was our server. Took him 25 minutes to just come over and take the order and once he did, he was not paying attention to allergies and requests. The place is beautifully decorated . It’s modern and airy, cosy with beautiful Georgian atmosphere. The overall quality of the food was excellent but most dishes were spicy, even though we asked several times prior to ordering. For example we ordered the beet/goat salad and would never imagine it would be so spicy. The live music in the background was beautiful, but extremely loud and we could not hear each other speaking to people across the table or even just beside us and it felt more like a loud wedding. I would highly recommend they lower the volume, so people can actually have a conversation while enjoying their food as it was extremely loud. They never came to check on our food if there’s anything else we needed. Their servers need to be more attentive and know the menu better and especially in inform their customers which dishes are spicy and respect allergies.

First time trying this restaurant, and we'll be back. Delicious food, great authentic flavors, great service, and ambiance. They also have live music. Their desserts are a piece of art! Nicely decorated space, cute accessories, and even salt and pepper shakers are shaped as khinkali! Strongly recommend checking it out if you are a fan of authentic Georgian cuisine or looking to explore it.

Georgian House is an outstanding restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere. I’ve visited several times with friends, including for a birthday party half a year ago, and it has always been a wonderful experience. The service is consistently excellent, the restaurant is impeccably clean, and the food is amazing. It’s also great for takeouts! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great dining experience!
