GC Jerk Xpress

I went to this location many years ago, didn't like it, no flavor in their food. Recently I've seen online that the food is good and my cousin said the same thing so I decided to try them again. I ordered fry chicken and the jerk shrimp. The chicken didn't have much flavor and the rice wasn't as soft but the Cole slaw was really good(they put cranberry in it). For the jerk shrimp, the shrimp was not deveined and it tasted as if the jerk seasoning was put in last as if it wasn't cooked(tasted like the raw jerk seasoning from the bottle, not cooked for 20-30mins). The cashier was really nice though. Their beef patty was really good. Will not be returning.

The jerk was jerking, finally a place that is not watering down the spice to cater to the masses. 4/5 because the rice didn’t have much going on or oxtail gravy wasn’t doing its job to penetrate that rice. I’ll go back for sure. Very nice people working behind the counter.

It’s good and jerk has some heat however portions could be better, I didn’t expect a Large meal to consist of 2-3 small pieces of chicken and a boat load of rice and peas had I known I probably would have settled for the small/regular.

I have never eaten a meal so fast in my life.😄 I found this place through a Tik Tok post, and let me tell you.. they can take my 💸 . The portions are great and the staff are lovely. The food is fresh, well seasoned, and prepared. It's like eating from Jamaican friend who can cook. A lot of carribbean restaurants these days don't uphold the standards we are used to for our food, and so it was refreshing to see the staples served fresh and tasty. I had the fried chicken with rice and peas and coleslaw..the coleslaw had raisins and I don't even like raisins,but this was really good, and do I guess I will eat coleslaw with raisins happily if they serve it. If you want fresh, authentic Jamaican food, I strongly and highly recommend coming here. I was not disappointed and will definitely be a regular. 10 out of 10

I ordered the Oxtail and Fried Chicken Meal ($22+Taxes) and it was WICKED! The food portions are large, delicious and, most of all, satisfying. I will definitely return to this location for more food.

The food is amazing and the service is great! Rosie is a sweetheart and an amazing cook. I have to say the chicken is cleaned very well. There's a part of the rib area I always pull out before I cook. They do they same. It makes me comfortable knowing they put that much more effort into cleaning their meat before cooking. The young gentleman at the front during the day is very kind and helpful. My piece of chicken was switched by accident (I asked for a specific piece). I called and advised I'll be back in 5 mins for a possible replacement. When I got there he had a new piece ready with gravy for me. Of course he couldn't take mine back for sanitation purposes however I really appreciated that I was able to retrieve my order right away. Also, whenever a customer says thank you to him, he replies 'My pleasure.' Very professional! We love this place and will continue to eat here and recommend it to friends and family.

It's a great hidden gem. Enjoyed for black restaurant week . A prix fixe menu at the time. Tried jerk chicken meal, dessert - festival with mango coconut sauce. Jerk Chicken poutine. Enjoyed. Great portions. For the poutine , it's not 🇨🇦 style. But still tasty. I would prefer less sauce, however my partner enjoyed it the most. So personal preference. Curious to try again. Edit*** 2024 May - Had to try the jerk chicken meal again! It was just as good!
