Friendly staff, good variety of breakfast options here. Most breakfast combos come with home fries but you can substitute it with a side salad, mashed potato or coleslaw. I love that they serve borscht soup here! Credit cards are accepted here.

Take the following food/drink reviews taking only the favourable and constructive reviews and Convert to a text 250+ words and positive without going overboard with paragraphs on Location, Ambiance, Food, Service: The venerable Annex oasis formerly known as Future's Bakery, now Future Bistro at Bloor and Brunswick, is a place I frequent, embracing its strengths while tolerating its shortcomings. Strengths: Convenient Location and Atmosphere: The relaxed, spacious, and casual vibe is ideal for groups, quiet work sessions, or casual meetings. It feels like a throwback to simpler times, offering a warm and unpretentious space to unwind. Desserts and Coffee: Their selection of cakes, displayed enticingly, and the bottomless coffee that accompanies ordered meals are standout features. These offerings are perfect for those looking for a cozy place to linger with a treat. Good Value: The affordable pricing makes it a popular spot for students and anyone seeking a budget-friendly snack or meal. Challenges: Inconsistent Food Quality: Unfortunately, the cooked meals often fall short. The scrambled eggs can be dry and flavorless, while sandwiches lack finesse. The seasoning is either too heavy-handed or absent altogether. Service: Staff interactions tend to be abrupt and purely transactional, lacking warmth or attentiveness. Accessibility: Accessibility is a significant issue. The narrow staircase leading to the basement washrooms is a clear barrier for individuals with mobility challenges. Decor and Cleanliness: The “grungy chic” decor might charm longtime patrons, but the outdated, slightly shabby interiors could use refreshing. Future Bistro remains a nostalgic favorite for many, but there's room for improvement to elevate the overall experience. It's still one of my go-to locations...

I went there just after they opened at 9am. I ordered a cup of drip coffee (only $2.25) that you can choose from dark, medium or hazelnut flavor. I do recommend flavor coffee. It was freshly brewed, so it was quite good:) It seems no one talks about coffee, so I didn’t expect it(sorry). It was surprisingly better than I thought. I would come back to try breakfast plate and a slice of cheese cake next time!

The place is very busy. But they work well to attend everybody. Although the huge menu, the line moves fast, and they prepare the dishes in a minute. The atmosphere is nothing attractive, no decoration, old-fashioned menu displays, and the wall paint gives us the appearance of dirty. I recommend it even though, as it has a very good price, and the food is good.

Went to Future Bistro for the first time in awhile and it was amazing! I order a ham and Swiss meal which came with two side. I chose fries and a salad. I do not consider myself someone with a large appetite however this was two meals for me. The waiter was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. During my visit I saw lost of people order food and enjoy it while studying. I will definitely be frequenting Future Bistro more often!

Whenever I visit TO for my mini vacations, this is always a must for me, there is so much to choose from, I don;t often go to eat a meal I go for the desserts because they sure offer a variety and whether it's cheese cake or a 5 layer cake they have a lot of amazing desserts to choose from. To be able to sit at the window and watch people going about their day and have a great beverage and a fantastic dessert is what a vacation is all about

I have been coming here for years, and unfortunately I have been disappointed by Future lately. It is a staple in the Annex, however it has really degraded over time. It has become unbearably overpriced. None of the outlets work. The wifi is basically non-functioning. Staff are not particularly friendly - and considering you pick up your own food, prices should be lowered. The only thing still drawing me to this place is the location and atmosphere. Today I paid $7.50 for a latte that was far too small for the price, not to mention the oat milk was overheated and the espresso tasted burnt. Hoping this place turns itself around.

Diner style food place with a lot of space inside. They have a bakery in there too with some goodies I'll come back to! The schnitzel was so yummy and flavorful so I enjoyed it a lot. The pancakes use a different batter (maybe whole wheat or buckwheat?) that made it heavy and a little dense. It was still quite yummy but not the traditional pancakes you'd expect. Totally worth a try! Reasonably priced, too.
