If you're looking for a classic Toronto eatery that serves up delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere, then Frans Restaurant and Bar is the perfect spot for you. Located on the corner of Yonge and College streets, this venerable spot has been a fixture in the city for over 50 years. The restaurant is known for its extensive menu, which features a wide variety of sandwiches, steaks, burgers, and salads. There's something for everyone here, whether you're in the mood for a quick bite or a hearty meal. I recently dined at Frans Restaurant and Bar with my family, and we were impressed with the quality of the food. We started off with the poutine, which was perfectly cooked and generously topped with cheese curds and gravy. For our main courses, I had the corned beef and eggs and my spouse had the mushroom with eggs. The service at Frans Restaurant and Bar is also nice and friendly. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive, and they make sure that you have everything you need. We had a great experience at Frans Restaurant and Bar. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and affordable meal in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Here are some additional highlights of Frans Restaurant and Bar: 1. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 2. It is a great place to go for a late-night snack or meal. 3. The restaurant has a full bar and a wide selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. 4. It is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike.

Hands down one of the BEST meals we've had in Toronto! The pancakes were buttery and fluffy and melted in our mouths. The homefries were seasoned to perfection. The bacon and sausage were flavorful, too. If you're looking for a great affordable breakfast, Fran's is the place to go!

How do you review a diner that has been around for 80+ years? What can be said has already been said by critics and foodies of the past and yet I’m inclined to add my voice to the lot. Fran’s represents a bygone golden era of shiny diners and the ambiance is still on display albeit a little duller and worn down. It’s impressive that the restaurant is still in great shape and it’s very clean which is important to me. However because it has been around for so long, it’s feels old compared to the modern trappings of wood, metal, glass of newer establishments. Perhaps that works in its favour. Perhaps if Fran’s decided to modernize and upgrade its interior, it would be lost among the other hundreds of restaurants off Yonge. Perhaps it should never change as a reminder of inexpensive and delicious food of what once was. And what a meal it was. I had the Big Breakfast (featured in the picture) consisting of two sausages, two bacon strips, two pancakes, two over easy eggs, home fries and rye toast. Jenny, my friendly and fast server delivered it with care and was on top of my coffee refills all throughout the meal. Everything was delicious, the bacon was crisp but not too much. The pancakes were sweet and fluffy. The home fries cooked perfectly crispy and seasoned. The eggs burst forth with a cut from my knife. The Rye toast whether it was made in house or ordered in was tasty. I can’t find a fault in the food at all which is why Fran’s has lasted for so long while other restaurants have come and gone. I hope Fran’s continues to be there long after my lifetime as a reminder of what was but also what could be. I’ll be back.

My family and I have always wanted to try the American style breakfast, and this place just hits the spot. The location was convenient for us as it is nearby our hotel. We had breakfast here for two days in a row. Absolutely love the retro diner vibe, and the food is delicious too. Big portions and very flavorful, we especially love their maple syrup! The server was attentive and really lovely, making sure that we are enjoying our meal as well as refilling our drinks. Would love to eat here again next time we visit Toronto.

We had a very nice experience. We felt welcomed our server was readily available and helpful. Even though it was busy the whole staff really was paying attention to customers. The food was good. We will be coming back

Absolutely loved this place, great old-school diner atmosphere, good food with decent portions, lovely service. I've been twice, once around midnight and again for brunch - had a wonderful experience both times, and I definitely recommend it.

I love the historical atmosphere of this place. I am Turkish and I grew up watching American movies and series. The moment I step in here, I am very impressed even by the sound of the doorbell. The arrangement of the seats, the fan hanging from the ceiling are all important details for me. It is very nice that these are still in place and that this shop is right in the center of the city. It is a history that preserves itself 🤎 These photos are from different dates but I wanted to share both plates today. In addition to the delicious food, the pancake and coffee duo is our favorite. You can order at any time you want and I have never heard anything like “our breakfast service is over”. Thank you very much for that. The unlimited coffee option is a great thing for me. The lasagna and garlic bread were great. The beef sandwich and homemade fries are my regular orders anyway. Thank you for everything 🤩

Our favourite spot for Canadian pancakes in the city. We come from Spain and once we came in for a chicken parmigiana and another sandwich (which were both delicious), we found that the breakfast options seemed delightful and decided to come back another day to try them. That resulted in us going there often to have the regular pancakes and the bottomless coffee. We invited our cousin as well, which was the one hosting us - we come from Spain. Every time I think of this incredible breakfast and the best maple syrup I’ve ever had, it brings me so much joy to reminisce those great times. Would gladly come back if I returned to Toronto ever again, as they were very kind to us at all times. Would be fantastic if dogs were allowed inside though, my cousin struggled and had to leave his dog outside. Thank you and best wishes!
