Flor do Ave Restaurant (1654 St Clair Ave W, Toronto) - Portuguese Cuisine

I've intended to try Flor Do Ave for a while.. this is a nice cozy dining room not too big or small, nicely appointed with quaint mismatched ceramic tile wall. Most important, the food was terrific! I had the day's special ribeye steak and house vino. As in the words of an iconic movie cyborg, " I'LL BE BACK !! "

wow! you guys need to try this place. Hidden gem for sure. Me and my friends we had a great time it was last minute decided to go for dinner for new years eve. Had no expectation and turnout to be truely perfect spot. I will visit again.

It was recommended by a friend. It's hidden among the stretch of unknown restaurants along St. Clair past Caledonia. The Chouriço à Bombeiro was a good starter and will surprise many on how it is presented. The tiger shrimp was really good and so was the Bife a flor do Ave. Good selection of wines and friendly service. The ambience is nice, but the space can be a bit tight for larger groups and the waiters moving around, but that makes it more lively. Overall a nice hidden gem for good Portuguese comfort food.

Quality is average. The waiter seemed to be new. She asked about drink. I said water only. She bought in a large bottle water without asking and eventually we have to pay $6 for the bottle water. Not happy. She should have mentioned there will be a charge for water!

This is a very small but charming Portuguese restaurant. Food is great with a good variety of appetizers, meat and sea food. Management please give more attention to the Restroom's, the male restroom was in very bad situation, I could not use it at all. All the rest was great.

Overall, Flor do Ave is a must-visit if you’re in the area and want to experience authentic Portuguese flavors. The cozy atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service make it a standout dining experience. I highly recommended it!

Absolutely loved everything from the moment we walked in and had a warm greeting to tasting amazing food and having 5 ⭐ star service throughout the whole dining experience. We could see the open kitchen which we love and the decor and vibe of the place was beautiful. We drove from Bradford so about 50mins and we will definitely be back.

Reviewed on Dec 19th, 2022 Called ahead and ordered the seafood platter for two at market price for pickup. We forgoed the mussels for extra shrimp. We were not disappointed, because everything was delicious and flavourful. The platter had at least three lobsters halved length wise, several snow crab legs, scampi, prawn, clams, and as mentioned nice full-sized shrimps. It weighed about 8lbs. Homemade risotto was also included. As mentioned, everything was fresh tasting, and delicious, and we got our money’s worth. The actual restaurant is clean, and inviting, but parking could be challenging if you take your car..The staff was friendly and offered free smiles, and the lady chef came out to greet me. Highly recommended.
