Fisherman’s Plaice

Have been coming here for 25 years but the last couple of times have been disappointing. The fish was dry and didn't seem fresh, the chowder was runny and the chips were soggy. They also charge extra if you pay by CC which is surprising.

Fisherman's Plaice in Mississauga has the potential to be a hidden gem, but it misses the mark in a few key areas. The halibut fish and chips? Well, the fish is a bit on the dry side, and the batter tends to fall apart instead of providing that satisfying crunch. The clam chowder, while comforting, ends up being kinda runny, lacking the creamy richness you’d hope for. And don’t even get me started on the chips—they're soggy and just don’t hold up to the rest of the meal. So while there’s a flicker of promise here, I’d say keep this place on the down-low. Let’s not let it get overrun by the crowds until they can nail the basics. Enjoy the experience if you must, but maybe don’t rush to share this spot with everyone just yet.

This is real fish and chips and the best around. I grew up with my British grandfather taking me to his favorite spots and this place hits the spot every time. The staff are always lovely, the flavors and techniques are authentic and the inside vibe is just like the good ol' days. I wouldn't change a thing about it. Thanks for being awesome and filling my craving for some good authentic fish n chips!

At 4 pm on a Thursday in May, the place was empty. By 5 pm, there was 1 table available. It's obviously a popular spot. This isn't a glamorous restaurant, but the food is good and fresh. The service is fast and efficient. They charge $1.95 for a glass of water. The menu had some really unusual items like haggis. How often do you see that on a menu?

Pretty good fish and chips area close to Erin mills area. The chips, tartar sauce and coleslaw are perfect. The haddock is pretty good but not the best I've had. The cod fish is okay. Too much batter for the amount of meat. Doesn't matter, I prefer haddock anyways!

Unassuming place with old decor but the food really hits the spot. I have been coming here off and on now for 5 years and it’s always delicious because they don’t try to do to much. Hands down my go to fish and chips place for mississauga.

We tried this place as a family friend said it was delicious and they weren't kidding. The food was so good. We ordered steak and mushroom pies, haddock, halibut nuggets, clam chowder, crab Cakes, onion rings, mushy peas and chips. everything was eaten and enjoyed. possibly one of the best clam chowder I've ever had. Definitely recommend this restaurant and we'll be back for sure

I have been coming here on and off for about 15 years now. It is Friday and I had a hankering for some fish 🐟 & Chips … and I mean really good fish & chips. The fresh kind, not frozen 🥶. The fries are still made from fresh potatoes 🥔. This is a local business success story run by the lovely 😊 ladies. Please support our local businesses. The restaurant and the staff are all the same. The food is still fresh, honest and made with dedication. I was feeling nostalgic when I was in the restaurant. They have added to their menu like crab cakes, shrimp & scallops. The fish & chips are still grand slam delicious 😋. The new items like the crab cakes are on point with texture and taste. The shrimp 🦐 was uber flavourful. It was a treat to eat their food tonight.
