Coming from out of town, we randomly came across this pub and decided to get a late lunch/early dinner. Service was great, the waitress was very attentive and friendly. We asked for non alcohol drinks. Ran out of Ice Tea. OK, this happens. The food was not very good, tasteless meatballs (frozen perhaps microwaved). Chicken tenders were ok, but again frozen and no wow. Sauce tasted off. So, I asked for extra ketchup. 2 small packets were brought, and we were told there wasn't any more as the restaurant ran out. (How does a restaurant run out of Ketchup? Especially with a grocery store at the corner or a dollar store across the street) I think we expected more from the kitchen.

Absolutely, let’s turn up the heat and call out that behavior directly: Our group of 15 made a reservation hours in advance, and instead of being greeted with even a shred of decency, the BOH manager decided to berate us like we’d committed some unspeakable crime by showing up. They yelled at us, loudly, in front of everyone, claiming it “wasn’t cool” that we came in late at night. Sorry, what? We booked ahead. We came ready to spend money. And we’re the problem? Let’s be clear: this wasn’t someone having an off day. This was bullying, plain and simple. This manager went out of their way to make us feel unwelcome, embarrassed, and uncomfortable. It’s the kind of unprofessional, abusive behavior that ruins not just a night out, but the reputation of an entire business. This bar is a joke. Easily the worst Firkin in the city. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless you’re in the mood to be humiliated by someone who clearly has no business working in hospitality.

Kevin the manager was very pleasant and accommodating. He provided us with a separate party room for our group of 12 with a large tv to watch the football game. Megan our server was friendly and outgoing, she made sure we had all of our food and drinks and consistently checked in on us. Overall fantastic experience and we will all be back!

This is the best place to have a pre or after party if you are going to the Coal Mine theater. The staff is amazing. You might have a very good conversation if you really want. Their manager Kevin is super nice. Highly recommended!

Place was empty but the service was slow. Server took the kids order and forgot about the adults. As a result, the kids were done when our food arrived. I had to ask if we could eat something from the regular menu as opposed to brunch. Food was average, they seemed to be out of a lot of ingredients. Guy on a table beside us had to return the beer as it was warm. Bathroom hasn’t been cleaned in ages. Definitely do not recommend.

Thank you to the staff: A man with face tattoo's, who looked like he was on his way out, put down his bag, and escorted us to a seat with a big smile. We walked in with a group of 7 in the middle of what seemed like a very busy dinner service, expecting to have a long wait and yet we were served our drinks quickly and our food came about 20-25 minutes after we ordered it. I just wanted to remark to the management that your staff are wonderful people and well trained. I couldn't help but notice the negative reviews and I would like to put it out there: That for a PUB, this is a very well established restaurant, and there was nothing I could possibly think to complain about. Thank you for the good food, prompt and warm service, and the cold drinks.

Me and a few of my friends went here last night. Jacob was our server and he was so amazing and sweet. I ordered the Shepard pie and it was just bitter and tasted like it was old. Jacob kindly let me switch to a burger and fries. They need to hire more staff it was so unfair how much work load was on Jacob from my point Me view. Later in the night we had a bartender named Taylor help us. So lovely and attentive, such amazing. These two staff members are wonderful. When the bill came I noticed I was charged for the Shepard pie and burger so I asked Jacob why and he said the manager told him I have to pay for both since I ordered both. I asked if I could speak to the manager because I barely had a bite and it was uneatable. Lovely Jacob went back to the manager and I guess he changed his mind and let Jacob take it off the bill. After paying I was on my way out when I over head the manager give a lady a glass of for free and he said “its on the house because your order took a while”. Our order was also extremely late but they were short staff so we understood but the part that’s not ok if the argument of not taking the Shepard pie to begin with. Why give your staff a hard time when a customer didn’t like it and when I asked to speak with him he didn’t even come to our table. Very unwelcoming manager.

I hate posting poor reviews. People have bad days, so do I. However, my ethics are to tell the truth and let the audience decide. I can only guess at what the problems were and as an ex-Process Improvement Consultant and stating thoughts or conclusions without proper info is not me. Okay, we both ordered Sheppard's pie. Both had a massive pile of potatoes (~80%) with the gravy, peas, corn and burger mixture on the bottom was less than 20%. 😞 The Waldorf coleslaw was poor, too much vinegar. We requested the coleslaw in addition to the veggies that came with the dish. This caused our server a fair amount of problems, attempt at saying no however we persisted. The slaw was included on another dish and we where happy to pay extra. In the end the vegetables that were suppose to be on the plate did not arrive. Just the slaw. The mango cucumber Tom Collins was good, however I don't go to bars, so $15 for a drink is hard to swallow. Finally when I shared our disappointment with both Sheppard's pie and the slaw, all I recieved was apologises from our server. No discount or waiving anything. And that was my final straw, and felt it important to leave the review.
