Fifties Diner Oakville

Went to the fifties diner for breakfast and it was good. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are good for the price. Love that they have turkey bacon and smoked meat as an option…it’s nice to have something other than pork which we don’t eat. The Belgian waffle is not really a Belgian waffle, however it is tasty. we ordered scrambled eggs and it was more like an omelette that was cut into pieces but it was still good. Also liked that the meals all came with fruit. Loved the atmosphere and the service was great.

Second time I've ordered from here and gotten something disappointing like this. A shame, because it used to be good. Won't be ordering again.

Stopped by here for a quick greasy spoon breakfast while having my car serviced across the road and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and friendly service. My classic 2 eggs and 3 sausage breakfast was garnished with some fresh fruits on the side (see my pic) which made it a colourful plate. Be sure to ask for the excellent home made hot sauce! See my pic! I asked for hotsauce and the server who was super friendly offered me 2 different Mexican type sauces which added to the taste. Not much to add other than I'll stop by here again when I am in the area. Update! Stopped by here again and had another great breakfast here!

Been here a few times in the past couple months - the breakfasts are always delicious including the fruit & homemade hot sauce. Server is lovely - she's always friendly, welcoming & quick to refill coffees no matter how long we stay.

In town briefly to meet up with someone and they were running behind schedule. This little restaurant was a great find (despite one wee upset). We had 30 minutes to kill .... and I can always eat. This place was a little time warp, if you will. I was expecting The Fonz to show up or Al from the kitchen with his "yup, yup, yup ..". The jukebox at the front door was broken but that was fine because the music already playing was perfect as was the decor. I had read a review from the fall of 2022 that they had no veggies. I bring this up because I ordered avocado toast and I wish she had said "we are out of avocado, sorry" because the lunch I was served had rotten avocado on it. Now I understand avocado is hard to keep and it's ripe for a very short period of time, but if you're going to serve avocado toast you need to have that perfected. The black spots were very unattractive. Some slices were completely black and most were spotty. Only a couple small slices were in fact edible. When the chef (?) discovered the avocado had gone rotten, the waitress really ought to have been honest with me and suggested another meal choice. She saw me bee-bopping and singing in my chair, enjoying the posters on the wall, why would she serve me, quite literally, a rotting lunch? Attempts to hide the blackened avocado were done with a lovely balsamic vinegar glaze poured all over. I did leave the rotting pieces on the plate on display so they could see their mistake. Did she say anything when she gave us our bill? No. Should she have asked? Probably. But what's that old line, "don't ask questions you don't want the answer to" ... BUT!!! My husband came to my rescue! Because my husband will never turn down a Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich, I was in luck! I didn't go hungry. His sandwich was done right. Massive. As it should be for MSM!

Stopped in for breakfast at around 11. The sign on the door says they are short staffed so we went in knowing this before sitting. The staff is very friendly and the place is clean. Really neat atmosphere. Lots of items to choose from on the menu. Food was good. Will return

Very unpleasant experience at this diner which my fiance was so excited to take me to today as it was my first and last time going. Our server Ellie maybe had an off day however was miserable and rude. My fiance asked if they had anymore creamers as his coffee was curdling from them and was told by Ellie "if you dont like it dont drink it.. Its all we have." In such a rude manner. As I see in other reviews and my fiancez omelette that clearly there was an issue with mine. She asked me how is the food bc i wasnt eating the omelette and i said its dry and looks burnt. She abruptly cut me off and told me its the spinach and thats how it comes out. I said id like 2 over easy eggs instead which she said i wont charge you for. Because i was paying for this burnt omelette that all i really would have preferred was a remake which wasnt happening. Alexa should be a server instead because she saved the visit for us big time. Very pleasant friendly young girl and she deserves zome recognition. Thanks girl .

Really enjoyed our breakfast this time! Visited on a Sunday morning about 9:30am and it was quiet. Food took a bit of time to come, but it was very very good. Still wish they served poached eggs! Steamed is just not the same... Great home fries, very nice polish sausage, the youngen loved the waffle (said "best ever!") - good value for the money. Great service and the bus boys are SO on the ball! Good team of people, thank you!
