Elephant & Castle

We had a really nice pub lunch here on the way to a show at Roy Thompson Hall. Great times, I really recommend it for a casual bite.

This rating is based on an corporate event where I didn't have to pay. The food was not great. The wings and chicken fingers were very dry. The chips and pie were pretty good. I do understand that have make a big batch so maybe is harder. The service was not bad and everyone seems to be having a lot of fun.

Had a great meal here with a friend before taking in a show. Our server, Ciaran, was fantastic - efficient and really friendly. We order appetizers and they were excellent. My favourites were the mini sausage rolls and the fresh chips with dip. The hummus and pickle chips were delicious as well. I highly recommend The Bees Knees gin based cocktail and my friend loved Old Fashioned. Would not hesitate to eat here again.

My first visit to Elephant & Castle was with a small group of three late at night 1030pm. Their kitchen was open late on a saturday which is great. We shared Chicken Kabob and the sauce was great. I had Chicken tenders with fries which I also enjoyed. If you are looking for a kitchen open late to hang out with some friends and maybe grab a beer, Elephant & Castle is a good place to check out.

We came here for a shepherds pie. It hit the spot. Roasted tomatoes and whipped feta app was surprisingly awesome. Bangers and Mash were good. Waiters were great.

Went on a Tuesday night with a party of six, it wasn’t busy and we were seated promptly. Service was okay, drinks and appetizers came out fairly quickly but our mains took close to 45 minutes. I had the bangers and mash which were okay but not warm and others in my party expressed similar concerns with the food temperature and bland taste.

Place is a lot bigger than I initially thought. Would definitely recommend sitting in the backroom for games and in the centre for a more private dinner. The atmosphere was A1, the service was great. They were so busy they sort of missed my brownie order. Instead of letting me leave they offered it to me for free as compensation for the mishap. The drinks were great, on tap and the cocktails. Ordered a tequila mule. My go to. Probably the best one I've had in many restaurant visits. Really wish they had nachos but I'm well aware it's a British themed restaurant and nachos aren't British at all. The other menu options are great.

Been here a few times now and have tried the slumdog and reuben sandwich as dine-in with fish & chips and chicken tenders as delivery. It's a British pub so the food is alright but I do like their fries a lot. Their bar is nice. The fish fillets and chicken tenders are a bit bland but that's why they include sauces which the plum one was quite good. A lot of seating and nice atmosphere and service! Great taste in music too. A convenient location for those downtown on King Street and want a quick simple meal better than fast food.
