Bartender add this own tips! The machine didn’t give us the option to add the tip, the bartender did it himself. This happened to my sister and a friend on Nov. 22, 2024. Check the machine and make sure the tip option shows!!!! This should be illegal.

BEWARE WITH BARTENDERS CHARGING YOU TIP WITHOUT YOUR PERMISION A bartender at the upstairs bar added himself tip without asking me. I noticed the extra charges on my credit card, I did complain & eventually got a refund. However what the bartender did was unethical, it’s literally THEFT. I was outraged!. They still continue to do it. It also happened to a few friends of mine & family members in separate occasions. This is not the first time happening at el rancho…. be careful with your credit card and be careful with any bartenders trying to steal money from you without your approval. Always ask for a receipt or breakdown of your drinks. Tips are NOT mandatory but up to the customers generosity and discretion. Auto gratuity without approval is STEALING. I hope the owner is aware of this and makes improvements.

Haven't eaten there in a very long time so can't say. I attended the Dominican Bachata Thursday night event. I loved it!!! It was packed, dance floor was full, lesson was great but no AC. It was stifling hot in there, completely unbearable. Not sure if it was broken or the owner turned it off. Want to dance in AC, highly suggest Azhwan's event on Friday and Sunday nights at Dovercourt.

Servers have awful attitudes. Ordered bottle service, the patron bottle was definitely filled with fake tequila. Save your money & go somewhere else.

Highly recommend to us. We got there ordered 3 nachos supreme $16 per order yet they basically had nothing. Some cheese and beans, black olives here and there, the guacamole was bad for a Latino restaurant, disappointing. 1 of the nachos was never brought until we asked about them, the waitress argued that we didn’t ordered it, after she apologized brought them same as the other 2 not much on them to call them supreme. Had the rest of my nachos to go and she just dumped them in a plastic container with the paper not looking at all professional. We make better nachos at home, we thought “maybe the universe is telling us to keep cooking at home lol.” 3 of us were very disappointed!

Had a dinner party with friends get together. It was 10 of us. There was a very good signer dressed up in customs sign around the tables and dance with some ladies. He has a great voice. We had some tequila shots on the house. The service was great. We had lot of fun. The dinner was $55 which includes a 3 course set dinner and the entrance fee to the dance floor. We ordered steaks and some of them didn’t cooked enough but they took care of it after. There are two dance floors: Latino and modern dance music. We tried both and it was fun. But I was a bit disappointed for the crowd. Maybe that just me because I only drank a little, my friends seemed to have lots of fun (after drinking a lot). Overall this is a place to go for friends get together and who likes to dance and don’t mind the crowds.

Cool place to hear some live Latin singer and then club after. My dinner wasn't that great no flavour and the meat was awful. After eating I saw the biggest roach I've ever seen in Toronto just crawling on the wall. Yuck. I get it, it's the city but it was an awful sight by that time nobody else was having dinner in the restaurant. I didn't get to club but lots of young folks there loving it. Go for the club and live Latin singer not the food.
