Dunlop Street Diner

Been coming here for years and it’s my go-to breakfast/brunch spot, I recommend this place to all my friends and family visiting Barrie. Staff is always SO nice and accommodating, and food is always fresh and delicious, and fairly priced for the quality!

I went to Dunlop Diner with a friend and had a great experience. The lunch we had was delicious, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. The staff were kind and attentive, making us feel very welcome. Prices were fair, especially considering the quality of the food. Overall, a cozy spot for a satisfying breakfast or lunch—definitely worth a visit!

My son and I went here for a late breakfast on a Wednesday. I think it was fairly busythe menu states. When it's busy, you'll be a 30 minute. Wait, we waited 30 plus minutes. I ordered the what the cluck benedicts. It was by far the best eggs Benedicts I've ever had the chicken. Was the star and the holindase sauce was a close second. My. Son ordered the kids pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes.They were huge our only downside to the meal was his meal was $7 and the small orange juicewas $5.I'm sure the menu may have stated this but I.Missed it when I was ordering other than it was a great meal

The most amazing pancakes I’ve ever tried, with real maple Canadian syrup served on the side! Many meat and vegetarian options available and they serve the most crispy and well seasoned potatoes I’ve ever tried. The workers are attentive and helpful in making recommendations. If I lived locally, I’d visit all the time for sure!

The meal itself was great! I got the burger, my friend got the chicken club and she loved it, fries were awesome. I reccomend the cesar salad and the burger.. however will note that the burger was a tad dry. Waitstaff could have been friendlier... rushed my friend and I a bit with our meals (there was nobody waiting for a table and there was plenty of time till close... no apparent reason to rush us) and the waitress seemed spaced out the whole time.

Of course if you’re eating out, it’s about the food. As it should be! Today, for us, it was more about the exceptional service Laura provided. We were seated quickly with a smile. Beverages were brought right away while we perused the menu. We were so pleased that an all day breakfast was on offer, as we thought we might have missed the breakfast/lunch switchover window. I ordered a full breakfast: eggs, sausage, beans, smashed potatoes and sourdough toast. A Clamato juice too. My husband had a hearty bowl of oatmeal, a side of toast and a fresh fruit cup (which was the size of a cereal bowl!). Homemade strawberry jam on the side, and lots of piping hot coffee completed our meal. A great meal. But, I want to say this: a great server can turn a meal into an occasion. We were tired and more than a little dispirited by a recent move. We thought we’d be in and out in a hurry and get back at the “to-do” list. Instead we chatted with Laura as she came and went. Took our time. Were charmed by her good cheer. Were pampered, rather than rushed. Exhaled. Which was just what we needed on moving day. You should come here for a hearty breakfast or lunch. But you’ll become a regular because of Laura.

Wasn’t expecting to be hungry but the smells guided me to the Dunlop Diner. This review is honest and I have never been to this establishment before. Walked into smiles, amazing smells, full tables with people enjoying their breakfast. Establish was clean, was greeted with good mornings would you like a table? I decided to have their 3 eggs and peal meal With home fries. With two links. Eggs were spot on! They even gave me homemade strawberry jam and beans on the side. Beans were like chili beans (amazing) The service was fast and super friendly! Coffee was great and the portions were spot on. Would I recommend? Absolutely! More than enough help and always seemed to be aware when your coffee was getting low or touching base to see if you needed anything. I tried to think of something to complain about, but I’m at a loss for words……. Sorry guys, but this is a great establishment which I will be going to again. I love breakfast and I think I will be wanting to try more of their menu! Try it, you’ll like it, love it, wanting more! Enjoy

Simple, good cuisine that will please all breakfast enthusiasts. Staff was fast and pleasant, food tasted very good, portions are surprisingly large and I didn't wait long. This restaurant has a great location, it's close to everything, it's definitely a great stop if you're in downtown Barrie.
