Democracy*

It had been so long since we last ate at Democracy* that my wife and I had forgotten that it existed. Quite silly of us considering that I'm vegan and its one of those rare vegan restaurant options in Hamilton. Luckily, a gift certificate from a friend brought us back. The dishes are wonderfully tasty and very much comfort food. I highly recommend Democracy• to everyone, even the non-vegans in your life.

Went there with my friends during the summer and ordered the mango and orange smoothie, it was absolutely delicious!! Staff is lovely and the store itself is beautiful, so welcoming and cozy! My friend got one of the cookies and it was also really good, will definitely go back to purchase, and even study there!! Loved it! 🫶🏼

Wow! Amazing food! Wonderful service! I wish we had a restaurant like this near me! I had the big breakfast plate and my wife had the TLT sandwich. So good! And our favourite was the savoury roll. But everything we hd was delicious. We tried the fruit muffin, walnut buttery bar, banana bread and zucchini chocolate muffin.

The Korean BBQ bowl was outstanding! Very tasty and satisfying. As I was eating it I said out loud that this will be something I will crave. The cauliflower wings were an absolute delight. I can’t believe they are gluten free!!! My friend really enjoyed her Taco Salad. We ate everything so there’s nothing to show in the photo. 😝

Absolutely amazing! Great spot on Locke. Vegan or not, you should definitely try it out. It's a grab and go style, so the table service is non-existent, although everyone working was super friendly and kind.

Wonderful menu as far as selection, plentiful baked goods counter, everything was DELICIOUS and the staff is all so lovely. The atmosphere is super duper relaxed and chill. There’s pretty high customer turnover so it might be tricky to keep up but could do with a bit more table wiping. This is my only tiny criticism but there are tonnes of seating areas to choose from. The vegan eggs florentine was absolutely delicious, I’ll be back!!

This restaurant boasts a fully vegan and vegetarian friendly menu that does not compromise on taste. For this breakfast experience, we ordered the Just Benedict and fully loaded waffle sandwich. If I didn't know that the English muffin or the egg was vegan, I wouldn't have been able to tell. The vegan Hollandaise sauce was creamy if a little acidic, but it came together nicely as a whole sandwich. If you could only get one thing off the menu, I would 100% recommend the waffle sandwich. The waffle was easily one of the best waffles I've had with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top. It was perfectly crispy and soft on the inside while being extremely tasty and perfect on its own or as a sandwich. The cold brews were relatively average, so nothing to complain about but nothing to draw me here either. The restaurant itself has an industrial feel with wood features and plants throughout. The washrooms were relatively clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this as a casual breakfast or brunch location especially for vegetarians and vegans.

Cool place. Love that all the items are vegan, the coffee is great, sweets are great, the only reason it loses a star for me, is that the brunch was meh… I got an edamame avocado toast (which I really appreciated the added protein) but the bread was chewy. I liked that it had sprouts and tomato on there, it was lovely. I also got a cardamom oat latte and it was AMAZING. I would go back to be honest!
