Danny's Pizza Tavern

A very cozy pizza joint that sort of had a 20s 40s vibe (maybe because of the music they played). We reserved for 5:15 and it was still fairly empty, which is what we wanted. We got a booth seat and ordered the mozzarella sticks and pepperoni tavern pie for a baseline. The mozzarella sticks had one of the most epic cheese pulls and came with marinara sauce. I really enjoyed the cheese sticks. The pepperoni tavern pie was very thinly sliced and the edge/outer pieces were the best because they had a crispy crust. I didn't think I could finish the whole pizza with my partner, but we did. It was more than enough food so the price definitely justifies the portion. We didn't even have dessert because the pizza was a lot! I really enjoyed this spot and it was a very warm atmosphere and a great casual date spot if you want to bring someone!

They really managed well with the design of the restaurant, as they don't have much space, but it's very cozy and has a social atmosphere. The food was great. The Mushroom Pizza features an excellent crust with a generous amount of cheese and a delicious flavor profile. On the other hand, the steak was absolutely fantastic. You can smell the fresh rosemary, and it was juicy and very nicely prepared. It was a bit cold when served, but overall it was a great experience. I wish the pizza was a bit less oily, but it was still enjoyable. Overall, I'd give it an 8/10. Cheers!

Danny’s Pizza Tavern came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint! We tried the margherita pizza, and it was absolute perfection. The crust was just right, with a flawless sauce-to-cheese ratio. Their chili oil and garlic sauce took it to the next level. We devoured it in under 30 minutes—highly recommend giving it a try! Only feedback: Please consider adding some halal options to the menu to make it more inclusive for everyone to enjoy!

We chose this place for a casual dinner in Toronto after a long time away. Since I had plans to visit another restaurant later, we kept it light and shared the Mushroom Pizza and Mozzarella Sticks. Honestly, I didn’t expect the food to be this good! The Mozzarella Sticks were packed with perfectly firm yet soft, and flavorful mozzarella. The crispy coating complemented the cheese beautifully, and I wouldn’t have minded eating all four myself as it was that good. Next came the Mushroom Pizza, which, to my surprise, was probably the best mushroom pizza I’ve had in this city by far. The flavor and texture of the mushrooms were spot-on, and the pizza dough had just the right thickness, balancing out the toppings without getting soggy, even as it sat for a while. The only downside was the service. The restaurant was quite busy, and while it’s great to see so many people recognizing the quality of the food, it was clear that the staff were overwhelmed. It took nearly 30 minutes for the pizza to arrive, and calling over a server was a challenge. However, the pizza was so delicious, we finished it in under five minutes! If they could work out the service issues, this would be a perfect place to visit anytime.

Great lil date spot that we swung by on a random Tuesday night - and this place was still bustling and full. We got the Cesar salad and Green pie. Was not disappointed. I'd give the Cesar salad a 10/10 and the pizza a 7/10. But then again in a city that does pizza well, perhaps my bar is very high. I would be back here to try other pies on the menu and their cocktails. Loved their ambience and service.

Great food I really like the mushroom pizza. It was really good. Pepperoni pizza was good too. I was not a huge fan of their Hawaiian pizza. Reasonable pricing as well! Mozzarella sticks and Cesar salad are good too. I was not super happy with customer services. After the waiter acknowledged that we sat, I asked him for some water (we had to ask him three times). We waited more than 30 minutes for water!!

Great pizza and a lively atmosphere! The thin crust was perfectly crispy, with fresh, flavorful toppings. Service was friendly and attentive. A solid spot for a casual night out—I’ll definitely be back!

Had a party for 20 people and the service was amazing. Small and cute spot! The mozzarella sticks, salad and pizza were fresh and delicious. The drinks are really good also! Will be going back for sure!!
