Daldongnae Korean BBQ (Empress)

The service was pretty good, staff were very nice and attentive. The food was excellent and parking situation wasn’t too bad. Definitely would come back here again 10/10

The beef given was full of cartilage. The soft tofu stew was not worth buying at a barbecue place so that was on us. I also had an issue with how dark the place was given that we are supposed to see under dim lighting as we cooked our own food.

This Daldongnae empress location is my favourite to visit! It’s not the biggest location compared to the yonge/steeles and richmond hill location however the customer service here is always superb! The staff are friendly, check-in often to ensure that you’re good (which makes reordering the side dishes easy) and the quality of food is good (the quality is similar to the other locations so nothing over the top there).

Always love coming here for KBBQ, we tried something new this time which was their cold noodles and it tasted good. The sauce for it though was just a bit too sweet and there was too much of the sauce. The meats and side dishes though were amazing as usual.

Boyfriend loved the mean options and he got the hangar steak - was really full. When it came out he was sad because it looked like a small portion, but ended up being more than appears! I got the vegetarian set - so happy that they had this as an option! It was pretty bug and def filled me up too. We got kimchi pancake to share and it was just okay. Not super flavorful and probably wouldnt get again, but at a bbq place its not needed to be the best haha. Service was great and atmosphere was nice after the power came back

Great Korean BBQ spot, very close to North York station! Amazing selection of beef and pork to choose from, I recommend the signature beef short rib. The sides are very nice, especially the cheese corn, kimchi, and cucumber salad. I think it’s very reasonably priced as you are able to request refills of the side dishes at no cost. Service is pretty good, but on the two occasions I’ve went there has only seemed to be one waitress who is often very busy and hard to get a hold of. Interior is quite dark, so I’d recommend sitting in one of the booths by the window if they’re available. The tabletop grill does get very hot and the experience is quite oily, so don’t go if you are wearing anything too nice.

The food here was fantastic. Fresh, flavourful and so much variety. We had the beef short rib and vegan plates and both were amazing. We also ordered kimchi fried rice which was to die for. Highly recommend if you like Korean BBQ or are a lover of good food in general. Service was also very friendly and attentive. Will be back!
