Daimaru Shabu Shabu (大丸 Scarborough)

Finally here for the first time! A group of six of us opted for the all-day premium AYCE set, and it did not disappoint. The beef selection was impressive, with good-quality meat. We chose a half spicy, half sukiyaki soup base, and the sukiyaki was a standout—absolutely delicious! Pairing it with a raw egg as a dipping sauce took the flavors to the next level - highly recommend! The soft serve ice cream was the best.

My friends and I came here for dinner on a Friday night. I had never been here before, and I must say, I really enjoyed the experience and the food! We were seated in a nice booth along the wall and we weren't bothered by any other groups of people chatting away. We chose the premium menu options and spent around $55/each (there were three of us) with the Friday adult pricing ($36.99), two soup base ($19.99) and the pitcher we got of yuzu sawa ($16.99). That's including tax and tip. We stayed an entire 2 hours which gave us more than enough time to cook our food, enjoy the soups, and catch up with each other. Based on my friend's past experience, she recommended we keep an eye on the Yelp reservation to make sure we got our name in line. Luckily, my friend went inside earlier and got her name down. There was already a 30-minute wait when she did that. By the time we were seated around 7 pm, the wait time was 2 hours! 2 HOURS! That is insane, but I see why. If you are going at dinner or weekends, make sure to reserve early as the queue can fill up quickly. Overall, this place has great options for AYCE. The broth was nice and hot and delicious, and the dessert ice cream was an icy soft serve in a cone - best dessert I've had at an AYCE restaurant.

We decided to hold our work holiday party here this past December and had a good experience. We had the wagyu and it was delicious. Didn't really try much else from the menu aside from some seafood but ordered plate after plate of beef - couldn't get enough. It was absolutely delicious in both the pork bone soup and spicy soup. Definitely recommend and can see why it's such a popular restaurant.

I visited Daimaru a little while back. There was a bit of a line when we arrived, so the hostess put us on a waiting list. The list moved fairly quickly, and we were seated in a booth. Our server was very lovely, she walked us through the menu’s. She was very attentive and asked us if we needed anything. We got their premium menu, and ordered the tomato & sukiyaki broth. This is my first time trying sukiyaki, it has a sweet & salty flavour which balances each other out. The meats & seafood were all super fresh, very high quality. Overall, lovely experience!

Great hotpot place with great value (kids eat for $4.99!). Good hot food options (they had a steak cutlet special, which was good, also the chicken wings and takoyaki). Basic selection of meats, but good enough to enjoy. You can order a bunch of sauces. Good veggie options. Servers were very attentive. Biggest downside was a long wait. Would definitely come back if we had the time to wait.

I've come here multiple times this year, and will definitely come back more times in the future. The food is delicious, and the service is great. The lunch special during weekdays are 24.99 which is a great deal. The all day premium menu is more expensive, and you need to pay for the broths separately, but there is a larger selection of food items. I love the pork belly, flat glass noodles, and ice cream here!

I heard that the owner of this restaurant is the same as Gyubee, so I came and tried the lunch here today. With an amazing price of $24.99 including two different broths and all you can eat, it is quite competitive and attractive. Can’t complain for the quality of beef brisket and lamb, me and my friend ate up 8 servings. The rest, while options on menu are limited for the special set, it is relatively sufficient. Highly recommended to try takoyaki!🍡they made it so crunchy and fresh. Services was as good as gyubee, the servers will keep coming and ask if we need anything. I am highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come again.

I had an incredible dining experience at Daimaru Sukiyaki! The ambiance of the place was amazing, and the spot we were seated at was perfectly chill. Kevin, our server, truly made the evening memorable. He was exceptionally attentive, frequently checking in on us while skillfully managing other tables. His attention to detail and genuine care made us feel like VIP guests. The food was good-flavorful and satisfying. Kevin is hands down the best host we've encountered so far. Highly recommend!
